Airsoft?
Airsoft is a concept similar to paintball. Basically 2 or a group of teams running around a game area capturing flags or completing other objectives. The upside to airsoft is the cost, realism and basic gameplay options. Whereas paintball shows whos been shot, airsoft relies on a decent player to call hits. Also, the guns look exactly like their real life counterparts. 99% scale. The running costs are much lower, as Ammo for paintball can cost anything up to 10 for 1000, where you can buy 3700 round of airsoft 6mm ammunition for the same price, proving a good mix with most AEGs that can roll off a full magazine in seconds. Airsoft on a whole, doesnt hurt as much as paintball, but this can be compromised with some new age sniping models.
What about the guns?!
Ah yes.. the selling point in airsoft. Firstly they come in three formats. These being electric, gas and spring. Electric guns, aka AEG (automatic electric gun) are modelled precisely after the real gun, and act in the same way. Most AEGS have single and full auto fire, and some models even a burst fire option. Gas guns are mainly sidearms and a few small SMGS (mp5K, Mac11, TMP). The fire rates on the SMGs are crazy, and the pistols usually have high power and Blowback action, and act exactly like the real version. To remind political figures, these guns cannot be modified to fire real ammunition in any way, as the majority of the model is plastic, and would just blow apart. The chassis is also internally planned in an entirely different way to house gas engines and valves, rather than firing pins and followers etc etc. Spring guns are what everyone has owned at one time or another. Your standard "BB gun" as its more commonly refered to. Single shot versions, low power mostly.. and rather tedious to use.  However some spring weapons can prove extremely effective on the field, such as the Tokyo marui shotguns or any of the Maruzen APS2 type rifles. Once again, none of these guns can be modified to fire a live round, even a .22. Anyone thinking a plastic model will house an explosive cartridge are probably too stupid to even understand the inner workings of an airsoft gun or the real steel anyways, let alone attempt impossible modification. The only effect i could imagine would be lighting a large firework close to your face.
Roles?
Airsoft will cater for all of them. Sniping, Assault, Heavy Gunner..you name it..you can probably be it if you have the cash to back it up. Unlike paintball..where the only option is..none of those really. Paintball is still good, dont get me wrong..its just shit for realism. I dont see many members of the SAS carrying a pipe with a haggis on top and a coke bottle on the shoulder end.
Team Dysfunction?

Its a name to make the site name make sense. Also, its basically a small team scratch thought of during a backyard skirmish. Consisting of only two real members, This team wont be entering any large games on their own just yet.. TD's base area to play is at Combat South, A woodland site in Wickham. There is also Combat South Urban. Details are at
