| Ok so, when you hear the words "Western Arms", You know what you paid a lot of money for is bound to be bloody good. By reputation of course. So, naturally.. The Beretta M92FS Elite 1A from WA is a bloody good gun. So how does it feel? Well..the barrel and some of the internals are made mainly of metal, which explains the weight. So when it comes to looks, its fairly realistic. Most of my family were fooled. But then again thats not a hard thing to do. When you're out of shots, the slide stays locked back, allowing you to the empty chamber. Just like the real deal. Which is a plus in my opinion, being an avid Beretta fan. The metal barrel gives the gun an added hint of realism and makes the gun look pretty kickass. So the big question.. Whats it like when it fires? Well..simply put. Its great. When i recieved it the magazines already had some gas in them (for some reason). So taking some of the 200bbs in the box, i went outside to shoot. Being my first GBB and not understanding the japanese manual meant i didnt know how to gas up the gun but thanks to Dan i had a rough idea of what i was doing. So once id found a target, i did just like the movies taught me. I took out my brand new elite, put the magazine in, pulled back the slide and fired. Firing the gun is easy. The blowback action is crisp and fast. I did find the bb's going all over the place due to the recoiling. A double stack magazine means the fun doesnt end after a few seconds. So the power is, Well, Enough to tear through a cardboard box. And not a weak cereal box.. One of these hefty double corrugated deals. When it comes to maintenance i wouldnt have a clue. But thats because im used to spraying some silicone gun oil into the barrel and chamber of my AEG. So GBBs were a whole different ball game. The gun easily strips down, Although it took me a while to take the slide off first time as i didnt realise i still had the magazine inserted. When the slide comes off, the firing mechanism and internals are all infront of you and easy to clean. So the whole fact its easy is good for me as i like things simple and straight-forward. Putting it back together is just as straight forward as taking it apart. Just a reverse action. So when it comes down to it, I'd say the Western Arms Beretta Elite 1A is a nice piece of kit. And at 129.99 (From Airsoft Armoury) It is a bit expensive, But well worth it. And with the clips being 29.99 each, it means you'll be forking out quite a bit for a decent sidearm setup. A built in rail below the barrel enables the user to fit a torch or LAM to the gun. So, on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being lowest, 10 being highest..Id have to give this gun an 9. It looses a point of the complicated.. japanese only user manual. - Chris |
