January 19th ((Lunar)) (D) Lunar frowns. This couldn't be the real Megatron . . . could it? What happened to the Conquest? Lunar does radioing. Oracle just watches the ship... Lunar doesn't dare show himself, even if he would want to. Not with the three stooges guarding the place. Oracle mutters to herself as the guards motion for her to leave. But she does move along, however. Lunar follows along, in the shadows, careful never to reveal himself. Oracle walks along, muttering to herself about 'historical signifigance.' Lunar moves off to the side, following a paralell course, moving ahead of her. Lunar moves in front of her. "So, what did you think of 'Megatron?' Oracle gets taken aback by the sudden appearance of Lunar. "I'm not certain. He didn't stay around long enough for me to have an opinion." Lunar chuckles. "I saw you there. You were fascinated by a historical figure, never even thinking that, if this is the REAL Megatron, it could mean the end of your way of life." You say, "Perhaps...but if he is real, he certainly is of immense, historical value." Lunar chuckles. "People like Megatron don't exist in history. They write the future." You say, "Which also becomes history in due time. Nothing lasts forever." Lunar sighs. "Only after such a man dies. IF this is the real Megatron . . . and I'm not sure it is . . . he will stop at nothing until Cybertron is conquered. That means Crystal City as well, Oracle. Only the lawless will survive unscathed, and even we will face hardships." You say, "What about those who follow /his/ law?" Lunar shrugs. "They live. Those who do not die, or leave civilization entirely." You say, "Sounds like a bleak future." Lunar nods. "It is . . . unless you are on his side." You say, "But what does he stand for? I don't have my records with me, and I don't know everything from memory..." Lunar frowns. "Power. That's what he stands for. Control, taking Cybertron and shaping it to his image, with one enlightened ruler - himself." You say, "What image?" Lunar chuckles. "Natural selection. The strong survive, the weak die. Megatron is the strongest of the strong, so he rules over all." You say, "Strong by whose definition?" Lunar says, "His. Brute strength, the ability to, by any means, eliminate the competition." You say, "I don't care for such philosophies. So, despite my historical curiosity, I must hope that this Megatron is not the real Megatron." Lunar chuckles. "You're not worried in the slightest, are you?" You say, "What do you mean?" Lunar says, "You are not strong by his standards, Oracle. If he succeeds, and if he is the real Megatron he WILL succeed, you will have no place in his world, except as a slave to his regime." You say, "If he is the real Megatron, then he has spoiled some of my plans..." Lunar says, "Such as . . . living free?" Oracle shakes her head. "There is no such thing. But that is beside the point." She pauses. "Are /you/ strong by his standards?" Lunar frowns. "I'm not as strong as him . . . and I have resisted the Decepticons. Unless he sees things my way, he will have to destroy me . . . which means I'm going to have to be more careful than ever. Luckily, I am hardly the most important thing on his mind right now, which gives me the advantage." Oracle frowns as well. "I can hardly see anyone rejoicing in this Megatron's return." Lunar smirks. "There are many who follow him with blind faith, never thinking about what he truly means to do . . . and then there are the Decepticons, who will be the elite of his new regime." You say, "What of people like Brawl or Darkraid...?" Lunar sighs. "I'm not sure. If I were Megatron, I would see Brawl and Onslaught as incompetant. Darkraid would be different. However, I do not think harm will come to them, merely humiliation and demotion . . . IF Megatron thinks like me." You say, "And if he doesn't?" Lunar growls. "Then he'll commend Onslaught for doing a good job with the Decepticons . . . and prove that he is a fake or no longer fit to be in command, but naturally no one else will see that." Oracle smiles wryly. "It's a pity you didn't remain in favor with your faction...they'll need someone to protect them from imposters." Lunar rolls his optics. "Funny. Real funny." Oracle folds her arms. "But if Megatron was so powerful, why didn't he conquer Cybertron long ago?" Lunar smirks. "Optimus Prime." You say, "They must have been at quite the stalemate then...because Optimus Prime certainly couldn't limit the Decepticon armies enough..." Lunar sighs, almost wistfully. "I wish I had actually seen the great war at its height. I was with the gangs then, so I only saw the effects. I would have liked to see that duel, for it was a duel, of sorts, between Megatron and Prime." You say, "I would, but not for a source of inspiration...just to record it with clarity." Lunar smiles. "You wouldn't fit in there . . . you're not a warrior . . . yet." You say, "And I never will be." Lunar chuckles. "Perhaps not . . . but you could be. You could be a great warrior, Oracle." Oracle shakes her head. "I have neither the equipment nor the inclination." Lunar shrugs. "Nor did I, at first. Equipment can be added. And the inclination . . ." He smiles. "If I was killing Brawl, somehow I feel you would fight me to prevent that." You say, "There is a differance between fighting once for someone's life, and being a warrior." Lunar smiles, a bit wistfully. "The first times I fought were for my life, or the life of my friends. Such occasions happen often in the gangs. But soon, I became comfortable with it." He looks at her. "And that's not a bad thing, or even an evil thing, as long as it is controlled." You say, "But everyone on Cybertron must know my self control isn't exactly my strongest attribute. Triage could tell stories." Lunar chuckles. "Another reason why we are the same." You say, "Many don't have control..." Lunar chuckles. "That is true." Oracle says nothing...there is nothing more to say. Lunar says, "You should learn how to fight some, it's a hard world . . . especially if you keep seeing me." You say, "No. I'd rather be defenseless." Lunar says, "Why? Are you so afraid you'd become like me?" You say, "Because what you did to me and others hasn't exactly made you my idol." Lunar chuckles. "It's what I am, Oracle. You know that. It doesn't mean I'm not right occasionally." You say, "Perhaps it doesn't mean that...but I don't think you're right as often as many others." Lunar looks down. "Oracle, you are still ruled by conventions that do not apply." He looks back at her. "And you still speak with me, and enjoy it. Why?" You say, "And you also must remember that the last few times we have met, I did not seek you out." Lunar says, "I admit that I enjoy meeting with you, because I think you are more like myself than you are willing to admit. But why do YOU enjoy such meetings?" You say, "Because you are an intelligent being." You say, "Sometimes intelligence can't help with moral right or wrong." Lunar chuckles. "I would have to agree with you . . . but I don't think you truly believe I'm wrong. After all, you hate me for what you know I will do to Brawl and others, and you're not as innocent as you seem." You say, "I'd be a moral idiot if I didn't feel some repulsion at what you did to Brawl." Lunar frowns. "I wish to amend my statements of yesterday. You're not yet dark, like me . . . but you could be. You are as intelligent as me, and the potential for hatred is always before you, and despite your "morals" you continue to speak with me. You could be dark." Oracle nods her head. "I never said that I couldn't, I merely said I had no inclination to follow that path."
