September 9th, 2002 ~Resonance(A), Firestarter(D), Darkmount - Holding Cell This holding cell is spartan at best. With a narrow resting platform attached to one wall, all it offers is a reminder that one is a prisoner. The walls are remarkably clean as is the floor, but faint scratches can be seen gleaming all around as if someone was marking time. The doorway is shielded from the outside with a glimmering forcefield. Nothing els is present as this is where the prisoners wait, not get interrogated, a dreary room at best. At worst, a tomb. Resonance [Robot] [A] Etching in the Wall Obvious Exits: -O- Out leads to Darkmount - Interrogation Room -Resonance is chained to the wall by energy binders, one around each wrist and one around each ankle, with three circling his torso and casting an eerie blue-purple light through the room. However, it's almost fortunate that these restraints are there... because if they weren't, he'd most likely simply collapse to the floor. The Autobot soldier looks /terrible/. His armor is baked, blackened, and cracked all over his body, paint peeled over over what isn't charred beyond recognition anyhow, leaving him only speckled with color in a pathetic manner. The side of his helmet is busted open, revealing damage cranium-metal beneath, and his left shoulder looks to be holding together on a wing and a prayer, a hole literally blasted entirely through it. He's missing a few fingers on one hand, as well, and all over his torso and legs there are great rends in his armor as from shrapnel or some heavy concussive force... maybe both. There's certainly enough damage to go around. And what may be the worst part is that he seems to be conscious, one chill blue optic burning brightly in his face. The other would probably be activated too... but it's shattered. -Moonlight walks into the holding cell area, just nosing around apparently. She glances into the cell and makes a bit of an 'O' with her mouth once she sees the prisoner.... -Resonance raises his head just a bit at the motion, but doesn't react much beyond that. A hacking wheeze racks his frame for a moment, accompanied by a slow trickle of oil from the corner of his mouth. And yet, amazingly, there's still something defiant in the way he looks at the Decepticon femme with his single working eye. -Moonlight leans against a wall and peers at the prisoner. She seems slightly shocked, but it's hard to tell because only her mouth can really be seen right now. She isn't grinning as usual. Strangely she doesn't say anything yet...just sort of stands there and stares. -Resonance spits the oil away, unable to get a hand up to clean it in a more dignified manner bound as he is, and then returns his attention to her, finally speaking in a hoarse, weak voice,"So, is it questioning time yet? Or have they just started letting the locals come gawk?" -Moonlight seems to take a bit to find her voice. "Neither really...I'm no interrogator." -Resonance tilts his head at how long it takes her to speak, at the air of surprise around her,"What? Don't you recognize your own comrade's handiwork? I don't mind, really. It's expected... this is war, and that's what Decepticons are all about, right?" He seems to dismiss her claims to not be an interrogator silently, and the long statement seems to exhaust him anyways. -Moonlight shrugs. "Handiwork? I'd call it a mess personally. And I'm not morbid enough to memorize destructive patterns on bodies to be able to recognize anyone's work..." -Resonance absently, almost in a bored way, tests his bonds and receives a small electrical shock for his efforts, twitching a bit and slumping once more. He glances back to her,"No doubt you'll find out eventually. They made a mistake, you see. I'm a nobody." -Moonlight makes a snorting sound. "I doubt that. No one is a nobody. Even I'm somebody. But really, what did you do to get yourself into this rather nasty predicament?" She doesn't sound sarcastic, merely curious. She doesn't sound hostile, but neither does she sound overly friendly. -Resonance shrugs, with a modicum of effort,"Nothing. The patrol attacked me, not the other way around. I'm just a grunt, like I said." -Moonlight glances at her fingers, which diverts her attention from the prisoner. She runs her thumb over her other fingernails. "Sure you are. Like I said, no one is a nobody. Everyone knows something or does something that can be seen as a threat to the other side." -Following a burst of joyful laughter, Firestarter comes from the door and looks Resonance up and down, obviously relishing the extensive damage that he helped cause upon the other Cybertronian. Firestarter himself seems to be battle damaged, especially from rocket fire from Res. But considering Firestarter is usually unconscious and missing limbs after battles, he's in good shape. "Just one irritating Autobot grunt. The tables sure turned, didn't they Resonance?" -Resonance turns his halved gaze to Firestarter as he enters, lip twitching a bit in something of a sneer that rapidly fades away into blankness again, his voice calm and controlled,"A shame you couldn't turn them by yourself, Firestarter. Then you might actually be able to say you accomplished something." -Moonlight glances over at the other Decepticon and gives him a nod of her head as a greeting. "I take it you're the one who did a number on this fellow?" She jerks her thumb in the prisoner's direction. -Firestarter simply shrugs. "Is that supposed to get to me, Autobot? I helped take you down, and am still walking to gloat about it. That's all that matters." He turns his attention to Moonlight briefly. "I helped. That Jynx fellow dealt out quite a bit of the damage, but I got in a few good shots." He immediately turns his smiling head to continue savoring the battered form of Resonance, something he has never seen before. -Resonance just shakes his head,"Gloat as you like, Decepticon. I'm just one soldier. The Autobots haven't been hurt at all by my loss. And to me, that's all that matters." And he relaxes into his restraints with a little smile. -Moonlight makes a 'hmph' sort of noise. "Jynx eh? I never figured he'd be able to finish anyone off without his luck doing him in first." She shrugs. "I've been trying to figure out what this guy did to get a tap dance done on him like this." She looks back over at the prisoner. "Then you must have quite a bit of belief in you...I know I'd certainly be a little more concerned for myself if I was sitting in that cell like you are." -Firestarter keeps his smile, though it shrinks ever so slightly. "Good, keep your pride. You'll need it during your execution, if the higher ups aren't all morons. And since when do we need reasons to trash Autobots? Last time I checked we *were* at war, Moonlight." -Resonance shakes his head to Moonlight,"I accepted a long time ago that my choices might lead to my own death. If that comes to pass, so be it... I won't give in to despair or fear until then. Neither accomplishes anything but getting you even deeper in." He just laughs quietly, though it obviously takes effort to do so, at Firestarter,"So bitter, Firestarter? Crystal City, Dead End, here at Darkmount... I was just doing my duty each time. Don't flatter yourself by making it personal." -Moonlight looks back to Firestarter. "I never said you /needed/ a reason," she shoots back, "but sometimes reasons are more interesting than the standard war issue. There are personal conflicts after all." She grins slightly. She doesn't look back at the prisoner, but it's clear that her next statement is meant for him. "Acceptance eh? I've learnt to accept lots of stuff, but death isn't one of them. Personally I'd whimper if I thought it would do me any good. Pride doesn't keep one alive and sane." She nods at Firestarter, "Ever heard of cases where whimpering helps? I might want to research that possibility." -Firestarter merely grunts at the comments. "Yeah, Res, maybe you were just doing your job. But you're not going to be doing your job for much longer, if you catch my drift." -Resonance inclines his head,"Believe what you want, Firestarter. If I die, so be it. I have no regrets." Then, to Moonlight,"If whimpering like a broken animal and cowering away to save your life is sanity... maybe I don't want to be sane." Said in a tone of dry amusement. -Moonlight glances over at Firestarter, not overly impressed...I mean, how much courage does it take to taunt someone who is all beat up and sitting in a cell. Her face remains neutral, however, and doesn't betray that, or the fact that she's feeling a bit squeamish. "So, besides taunting broken down mechs, how else do you amuse yourself?" she asks of her fellow 'Con. She takes a moment to look back at the prisoner. "There's always change with life. Dead mechs can't do much of anything. I'll take my chances being alive and hoping for better. And I never claimed to be sane either." -Firestarter doesn't notice anything negative from Moonlight shrugs. "Call Shox an idiot, behind his back and to his one stupid little blinking eye. How else?" -Moonlight can't help but laugh at that one. "Like to live life dangerously, don't you fella?" -Firestarter shrugs. "Not dangerously. Shockwave is just an imbecile. Now, while I could stay here and watch this art work I helped create all day long, I have to file a report and get to the medbay. See if you can record this or get a picture of it, okay Moonlight?" -Moonlight draws her optic ridges together from under her hat in a bit of a facial frown. "A picture? Of that?" She shakes her head. "I'm beginning to think my theory is right. Next you're going to ask me to cut his arm off or something..." -Firestarter smiles as he starts to leave and shoots her a glance. "Ooh, that's a good one. If that's possible, go ahead." He continues walking as he says this, and the red robot is gone. -Moonlight just shakes her head as she watches the other Con leave...she sighs and looks at the wall. "Just between you and me, wall, I can understand why there's still a war....get an arm indeed."
