"Jeff, for God’s sake, leave him alone, please!" Blake tried to stop Jeff from strangling Adam, while Krystle walked in quickly with Dex following her.

"Jeff, come on. He’s not worth it!" Dex called as he headed to the stairs and tried to pull Jeff from Adam, together with Blake. But it wasn’t easy. Jeff was strong and determined to punish Adam for what he had done, and Adam looked at Blake, barely breathing, not trying to fight back.

"What is going on? Dad!" LB shouted as he walked into the mansion and ran toward the stairs.

"Give us a hand, LB. Come on!" Dex told the boy and the two of them together pulled Jeff from Adam. Adam fell on the floor coughing and shaking, as Krystle approached him with a glass of water.

"I’m not done with you, you bastard!" Jeff yelled at him, but Adam just looked at him without saying a word, knowing exactly how to play the "victim." It helped his case when Jeff suddenly blurted out, "You’ll pay for everything you did, Adam. Everything!"

"Jeff, calm down, please!" Blake asked his son-in law.

"I don’t know what he’s talking about. Honestly," Adam murmured.

"Come on, Jeff. Let’s go, come on," Dex told Jeff and dragged him to the library with LB after them.

"Are you okay, Dad?" LB asked Jeff.

"Yes, I’m fine," Jeff whispered, still upset.

"Are you sure? You almost killed him!" LB added.

"Well, it’s not the first time your father ‘almost’ killed Adam. God knows I had a few incidents myself with that creep," Dex said, and Jeff forced a smile, still heavily breathing.

"I’ll bring you a glass of water, Dad," LB said and walked out of there as Jeff sat on the couch.

"So, you wanna tell me what Adam did now?" Dex asked his old friend.

"I just can’t stand the man, Dex. He’s doing everything he can to sabotage LB’s work. I believe he’s the one responsible for the disaster at the construction site; he’s doing everything he can to annoy me. He’s not human, I’m telling you!"

"Hey, we’re talking about Adam. You two have a long, hard history. It’s not something that will just vanish with a punch to the nose," Dex said.

"He was lucky this time, Dex. I’ve never been so full of hate as I am with Adam right now. And that’s scares me the most, that I really could have killed him," Jeff said.

"I know the feeling, believe me. But you need to think of Fallon and your children. As long you’re living under the same roof with that scum you need to get along with him, not to mention the fact you two are working together," Dex said.

"Don’t remind me," Jeff replied.

"So maybe the answer is to move on, Jeff. You’ve been living here from day one. Don’t you think you need a place of you own? A place for you, Fallon and the kids?"

"I haven’t thought about that in years. Fallon is so attached to this place."

"Fallon will understand. Believe me, even though I miss Alexis, I’m much happier and calmer since I moved to the ranch with Cameron and Mary Anne," Dex said.

"What reminds me, that we still haven’t been there," Jeff said, "Sable told Fallon it’s a great place," Jeff said.

Dex was glad he was getting his mind off of Adam for a change, and happily continued. "Yes it is, Cameron is so happy there. He’s still hoping his mother and I will live there happily ever after, but I hope he’ll realize someday that it’s not going to happen," Dex said.

"So Sable’s decision is final? She’s leaving?" Jeff asked.

"She was about to, before our old friend Zorelli stopped her from leaving," Dex said and Jeff looked at him, surprised.

"Zorelli? You mean John Zorelli?" he asked.

"Yes, he’s the one who’s investigating Roman Ramieres, you didn’t know?" Dex asked the stunned Jeff.
