“I don't know, but I'm sure we'll know soon,“ Jeff replied, still pretty tense himself. “He can't just call my witness without giving me the time to prepare first, your honor, I have to talk to Mr. Carrington first myself!“ Kevin tried talking sense into the judge. Fisher was not going to give up on this. “Oh, come on, the witness is the defendant's uncle; don't tell me you didn't talk to him before, because you planned to put him on the stand yourself!” Fisher attacked back. “Not as a hostile witness! Come on, your honor, this is ridiculous!”
“What is the point in questioning Mr. Carrington, Mr. Fisher?” the judge asked Fisher. “As I said, we have some critical information that the jury needs to know. Your honor, I truly believe that if Mr. Laird will talk to Mr. Carrington, he might change his testimony,” Fisher said calmed. “Oh, please! This is another prank of yours! You don't have anything else against my client so you're trying to tear his family apart by calling Adam Carrington!” “Mr. Laird, that’s enough. I have to agree with Mr. Fisher on this.
