"It all comes tumbling down" PT II Denver, Colorado- Jim’s Apartment “Mother!” Ashley exclaimed. She couldn't believe her eyes. The last time she had seen her mother was more then two years ago, when she left Germany and moved to Israel. She had made it very clear to her mother that she did not want any contact with her; and when she arrived in Denver more than two years ago, she had never let her mother know where she was. Now she was standing there, in front of her, smiling at her as if nothing had ever happened between them. “Darling, I missed you so much! It's so wonderful to see you again!” Anne said as she hugged her daughter. Ashley barely hugged her back and stared at her, still not understanding what she was doing there. Without waiting for an invitation, Anne walked into the apartment with her two suit cases and put them on the floor. “So, this is where you and Jim have been staying for the past few years?” She asked, examining the place. “Mother, what the hell are you doing here?” Ashley shut the door, and approached her mother.
“What do you mean what I'm doing here? Do I need a reason to come and visit my only daughter after two long and lonely years away from you?” Anne asked. Ashley looked at her, trying to figure out what she wanted and why she was really there. “Oh no mother, stop the act! We both know you didn't come all this way from Europe just to say hello. It's obvious that you want something!” Ashley decided to put all the cards on the table. “What? No! Ashley, how can you say that? You are my daughter and I love you! Now I know that we had our differences before you left Germany, and I know I have made some mistakes back then, but we are still mother and daughter and nothing can tare apart that connection, right darling?” Anne pleaded. Ashley looked at her, still pretty much amazed. “How long are you staying here?” She asked. “I don't know yet. I quit my job and I have plenty of time to spend with you and with Jim.” Anne announced.
“With Jim; you want to spend time with Jim?” Ashley laughed. “Well, why not? I'd love to see him. Is he around?” Anne asked. “Mother, Jim is getting married!” Ashley informed her. “What? With whom” Ann asked. She was obviously shocked. “You don't know her, and frankly, it's none your business.” Ashley said coldly. “I didn't have any idea. I didn’t ever know he was seeing anybody.” Anne was surprised. “Well, it's not like you kept in touch with him.” Ashley said. “Who is this woman? Is she from the hospital? A nurse?” Anne tried to guess. “As I said, it's none of your business, mother. Jim is happy now. It took him a long time to get over you and move on with his life. Me too! And I won't let you ruin everything we have built, you got that?” “Ashley!” “You can't expect Jim and me to throw everything we have now away and jump back into your arms as if nothing ever happened! You better go back to Europe and never come back again.” Ashley was almost yelling at her mother and walked out of the living room. The Carrington Mansion, Blake and Krystle’s bedroom
Upon Blake’s return he found Krystle had waited for him. What she had seen a few hours ago had hurt her so much and she had the feeling that one of her worst nightmares had come true. “Hello, Darling!” Blake said as he entered the room and went over to Krystle, who was brushing her hair at the vanity. Krystle barely moved as he kissed her. He didn’t realize this, because he was still confused by what had happened this evening. “How was your meeting with Patricia?” Krystle asked in a dry tone and wondered if Blake would tell her. “Fine,” He replied. “We could finally clear everything that was between us and I assured her that if those pictures are still around, I’ll take care of them.” “Was she upset, when she found out you knew everything?” Krystle kept staring into the mirror and brushing her hair. Now Blake got a little nervous. He thought it was better, if he didn’t mention that Patricia had kissed and told him, that she never really got over him. “Well, she wasn’t thrilled to hear it. She still feels horrible when she thinks of the accident.” Blake replied and remembered how upset Patricia had been. “Lucky for her, that she had a strong shoulder to lean on.” Krystle said and didn’t hide the cynicism in her voice any longer. Blake turned around and looked at her. He frowned. “I guess it was important to her that I know and understand her reasons.” “I bet it was.” Krystle’s voice sounded angry now. She stood up and approached her husband. “Krystle, what is it? Is something wrong?” Blake asked puzzled. “Oh yes Blake, everything is wrong, since this woman came back to Denver and is trying to seduce you!” Krystle now spat out. “What the hell are you talking about?” “I was there, Blake!” Krystle shouted. “I was at the park and I saw you both together; kissing.” Blake could see that tears formed in Krystle’s eyes. Her emotions were a mixture of anger, disappointment and sadness. Blake sighed and shook his head. “Krystle, it’s not what you think.” He started, but Krystle cut him off.
“It’s not about what I think, but what I have seen! Fallon and Ben were right about her. The only reason she returned to Denver was to get you back into your life!” Blake put his arms on Krystle’s shoulders. He could understand his wife. After all, he knew that Krystle feared most that something like with Alexis, and the horrible past, might happen again. “Please calm down....” “Get your hands off me!” Krystle shouted and turned away.
“Now will you please listen to me for god's sake,” Blake raised his voice now too. “She was very confused and upset, so she got swept away. She immediately apologized afterwards and regretted it.” “You still don’t realize how she really is, do you?” Krystle asked in disbelief. Blake looked at her and didn’t know what else he could say to make her believe him. “But I do. I have from the very beginning.” Krystle continued angrily. “She’s playing a game and she knows how to get to you. But I won’t let that happen, Blake. Not again! If you don’t stop her, I will!” She looked Blake in the eyes to make sure that he understood she was serious. Then she took her coat and stormed out. Blake tried to catch up with her, but she was faster. “Krystle!” He called after her. “Krystle,” He yelled. But she didn’t turn around and before Blake had reached the stairs, he heard the front door slam and eventually Krystle’s car that drove away. And now...
