DAY 1

&           Looking at Comic Strips! 

s   How do the illustrations help tell the story? 

s   How do the artists use quotations and captions to tell the story?

s   What are some of the techniques that an illustrator uses to set a mood?

DAY 2

!  Draw your own comic! 

!  Students will create their own 4 to 6 frame comic strip of their favorite story. 

DAY 3

&           Pick a book and find 6 to 8 main plot points and 3 to 4 important quotations from your book. 

s   If you told someone these plot points in order would they understand how the story unfolds?

DAY 4

!  Work on comic strip book reports focusing on retelling of the story of our books using illustrations, quotations, and captions.

DAY 5

&           Share and evaluate comic strip book reports.
