Scene 3 and 4 Reflective journals

  1. Creon exclaims, “My voice is the one voice giving orders in this City!”-scene 3

This to me shows that Creon likes to run a dictatorship. He refuses to listen or take orders to anyone else. If someone of today was like Creon it would probably be Saddam Hussain. This is because Saddam doesn’t like to listen to others and likes to have power over all which is exactly what Creon is like.

  1. Haimon says, “I cannot say--I hope that I shall never want to say!--that you have reasoned badly. Yet there are other men who can reason, too; and their opinions might be helpful. You are not in a position to know everything that people say or do, or what they feel: your temper terrifies--everyone will tell you only what you like to hear”-scene 3

In the quote Haimon shows his father creon the reality and is trying to tell him as settle as possible that he has made a mistake. Compared to today’s standards it is just like the Cabinet which advises the president what too and what no to do. However unlike the president apparently Creon is to high for anyone else’s opinion

  1. Haimon shouts, “Ah! That voice is like the voice of death!”-scene 4

This is when Haimon shouts at his father to me this is like calling your father the devil. You are so tired of hearing it when you do it’s like a blow horn in your ear with you not being able to stand the littlest bit of it.
