Greek Hero Reports

A hero of today I feel is someone who risks there life for people on a daily bases. Most of the time our heroes don’t even know who they are saving or helping, but they do know that they have a job to do. Our heroes of today are fireman and people that serve in the army or military who are on a daily bases put there lives on the line to protect and save people that they don’t even know. That is hero of our time it’s not Superman or Spiderman and not even a president, it is people that are putting there lives on the line on a daily basis.

However in the days of 1000 B.C. the heroes of then were people that were written about in poems and books that could go into battle and kill people seeming as if they had some type of superpowers. It wasn’t necessarily the masses of thousands upon thousands of soldiers but it was people like Odysseus who would go into battles like the Trojan War and kill everyone he fought. Then he would be written about in books and epic poems that would tell of his how he was the man that took Troy and saved Helen. A hero back then would also probably be a king for example Alexander the Great who made an empire that ruled all others, making it so he had no other opponents to defeat. That was a hero of 1000 B.C.

As you can see there is a big difference between a hero then and hero now. They are both the same though in which both seem to put there life on the line to save people but unlike 1000 B.C. our heroes of today aren’t a super worrier but they are anyone who makes it there personal duty to protect others.
