Section 4

A. Anabaptist is the belief that adults and only adults should receive sacrament of baptism.

B. Henry was against protestant revolt and even ended up shutting down many covenants.

C. She inherited the throne and failed in making England catholic.

D. the Book of Common Prayer was a book with a modern form of protestant service but preserved many catholic doctrines.

E. Elizabeth was a great ruler who restored unity and made England a firm protestant land.

F. The catholic reformation took place during the 1530’s. In this he set out to revive the moral authority of the church.

G. The council of Trent is a group appointed by the pope to make sure the reformation went in the correct direction.

H. To deal with the protestant threat pope Paul strengthened the inquisition which is a church court that is set up to ride the bad people out.

I. the Jesuits order was set up to combat heresy and spread the catholic faith.

J. St. Teresa set up the order of Carmelite nuns who devoted there lives to prayer and meditation.

A. Nicholaus Copernius published the book On the Revolutions of the heavenly Spheres. In that he proposed Heliocentric.

B. Tycho Brahe is a Dutch astronomer who gave evidence that supported Copernius’s theory.

C. Johannes Kelper used Brahe’s info to find out the orbits of planets around the sun.

D. Galileo Galilei is an astronomer from Italy to design an astronomical telescope.

E. Andreas was the first to study about human anatomy.

F. William Harvey was the first man to describe the circulation of blood.

G. Rene was a giant in the revolution of thought. He though that human reasoning is the best road to understanding.
