                            MESSIAH TILE SET
                   by Steve & Charlotte Massey-Crouch

All of the symbols in the Messiah tile set are authentic Christian
symbols found from a variety of sources. Some of the tiles, however, are
combinations of one or more symbols which we put together to give color
and beauty to the set.

Following is a brief description of the tiles:

               1. IHS: "In Hac Salus" meaning "in this is
salvation". The English sometimes give it the meaning
                  "I (Christ) Have Suffered".

               2. The Heavenly Father's All Seeing Eye--a symbol of
                  the Father's omniscience.

                3. The burning lamp represents the Light of God's Word.

                4. The chalice and the Eucharist symbolize the Body
and the Blood of Christ. The IHS in the Eucharist means
                   "In this is salvation".

                5. Jesus carrying His cross, or The way of the cross.

                6. Resurrection cross.

                7. The dove is a representation of the Holy Spirit.

                8. Greek symbol: Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior. This
is an ancient symbol of Christianity.

                9. Descending Dove--Pentecost.

               10. The church with lighted cross--an invitation to all.

               12. Hand of God descending out of a cloud.

               13. IHCOYC: Greek for Jesus; the background shield is
                   St. Andrew's.

               14. The shield of St. Peter.

               15. Lamb of God on Holy Bible, covering the entire world.

                   Christianity.

               20. Easter cross.

               21. Celtic cross, or Irish cross. The center circle signifies
                   eternity.

               22. Latin cross.

               23. INRI (King of the Jews) combined with the IX symbol, which
                   is Greek for Jesus Christ.

               24. Jerusalem cross, or crusader's cross. It is also known as
                   the five fold cross.

               25. Alpha and Omega (the beginning and the end) combined with
the Latin cross. (Jesus always has been and always will
                   be.)

               26. CHI RHO. The ancient monogram of Christ.

               27. Budded cross; sometimes used on top of the Christian
                   flag.
