=EVOLUTIONARY & WORK INFORMATION====================================SEC 2 OF 4=

Total work time spent: 91 hrs = 3.79 days over 52 days.

Remarks: The number one course in Hawaii has now been recreated for JNSE.
Enjoy a relaxing round at one of the most unique, tropical courses
         in the world.

Imagine this; the sun is warn at your back, the sky is clear and
rich in blue after a recent rainstorm, a few ash shaded clouds are
still evident, a cool ocean breeze refreshes you from the warm sun
as you line up your putt after a breathtaking shot over the Pacific,
the cup is about 14 feet away, makeable for you, you watch your
partners' putt very closely, checking for any invisible breaks, as the
ball rolls about halfway to the hole the ocean waves crash away the
lava rocks below, violently, a sound that drowns all thought as her
ball rims around the cup three quarters and slides in with sheer
silence... Now, it's your turn, you have a slight ridge to
putt over with maybe a slight break to the left, "this one's for
birdie" your partner reminds you, you decide to align your putter a
few degrees to the right, slightly beyond the right edge of the cup,
you know that you are defiantly going to get at least par, so you
decide to stroke firm and hard, as you are lining up your feet
carefully the waves crack away one more time to remind you where
you are, as you are about to start your back swing, the ocean quiets
down in a gesture of peace, you start your take away, it's a little
longer than your usual swing..., as the club head comes down, you take
extra care to make contact right on the center line, a gleam of light
reflects off the toe of your gold plated putter as you make contact,
the putt is straight and rolling along nicely, all is quiet, you wait
nervously as the ball rolls on, about halfway the ball seems to roll
a bit off course to the right, but the speed will no doubt get you
there, as you regret your thoughts of aiming right the ball suddenly
turns left as if it were being pulled by the ocean in some way,
your ball is now about a foot away and breaking left fast, you lean
right for a somewhat futile attempt to correct the ball's course,
you watch hopefully as the ball slowly creeps towards the left rim,
you wish for only one more turn to drop in... and so it does,
as you hear the familiar sound of plastic vibration you cheer with
delight, because you know that you have just made a birdie on the
toughest and most awesome hole on the world! A cool breeze rewards
you for your efforts as you make your journey back to reality and
focus your thoughts on the challenges that lie ahead on this wondrous
         and spectacular course.

Links386 players will notice a few changes here on the JNSE version,
this recreation was modeled after the Westin course and not the
old Mauna Kea course. One thing that should be pointed out is that
hole 3's Black Tees have been placed on the old promontory and has
not been move forward. The original Black Tees on the third no
longer exist on the actual course as a storm washed away the tees
several years ago. I thought it would be nice to have them back
         again in this version.

Greens here are severly sloped and may present a difficult challenge.
Also to mention is the terrain, most holes are uphill and
most tee shots are blind. But the real difficulty lies in the
length, this course is very long and can present at tough challenge
for shorter hitters. But the difficulty is far outweighed by the
scenery, each green has a clear view of the ocean, Mauna Kea, and
the Kohala coast, everywhere you turn there is spectacular scenery.

Palette has been adjusted to better represent the custom Tifgreen
#328, a special and unique species of bermudagrass designed by Robert
Jones Juniors' dad himself to grow in treated and processed lava.
He also invented a special machine to process that lava.

Overall a very unique course with a lot of "onlys" in golf course
architecture. This course is as enjoyable as it is challenging,
pay special attention to strategy as this course will test your
         skills like no other.
