      ANY ASD .SC1 FILE

CONVERSIONS AND WORDS USED IN THIS INSTRUCTIONS:

C is the letter of our hard drive (sustitute it for yours).

dir is the directory where you are supposed to have the CLOUD'S
         UnZipped files.

SEE4 is our SEE directory (sustitute it for yours). This is the
directory where your SEE library objects are stored, that is,
         the .SC0 files

`DAT' is used to describe the original DAT file prepared with SEE,
         before any changes with CLOUD.EXE.

`DAT-L' is used to describe the original DAT file prepared with SEE,
but after the changes with CLOUD.EXE.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

CLOUD.EXE takes the parent CLOUD.ORG file and changes its
boundaries and coverings, by using the North & East
      coordinates you submit.

Then CLOUD.EXE creates a new file with the name CLOUDP.DAT.

CLOUD.EXE then appends `CLOUDP.DAT' to the original `DAT' file
      automatically.

(OF COURSE THIS CAN BE SKIPPED IF YOU WANT, BUT YOU WILL
HAVE TO APPEND IT BY YOURSELF LATER).

THE LAST STEP IS UP TO YOU!

You need to run the SEE4 `PROCESS CURRENT' command, by pressing
`ALT+F4' over the edited `DAT-L' file, that is, your original
DAT file with CLOUDP.DAT appended. (See SEE.04 Manual)

And THAT'S IT! You have a .SC1 file now covered with layers
       of clouds.

DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS:

a) Copy the Unzipped files to the SEE4 directory except for
the *.SC0 files which are supposed to be copied to the SEE4
Library (where you keep your .SC0's). See example below!

        TYPE ` COPY C:\dir\CLOUD*.* C:\SEE4 '

        TYPE ` DEL C:\SEE4\CLOUD*.SC0 '

        TYPE ` COPY C:\dir\*.SC0 C:\SEE4\LIB '

        TYPE ` DEL C:\dir\CLOUD*.*

In other words, you need the SC0's files in the SEE4 library directory
and the rest of your files in the SEE4 root directory.

b) Go to FS4 menu, type `1, J, 1, K' press the `A' until you
find the .SC1 you want to cover with clouds; press the
number beside it, then press `G'. Write down the North &
    East coordinates. Quit FS4.

c) You need to create a `DAT' file for that SC1 in order to
run CLOUD.EXE. You can create one with the SEE4 `CREATE A NEW
FILE' command. (skip this step if you have the `DAT' file already
    created)

We recommend that before you do anything to the original SC1 file,
copy it to a floppy disk for backup purposes.

d) Add everything you want from within FS4 (A&SD) to the SC1 file,
then do any other changes from within SEE to the `DAT' file
created. In other words, do the things you ordinarily would do
    for such a SEE04 process.

Go to the SEE menu, load the `DAT' file and run the `RUN & PROCESS'
    command, by pressing `ALT+F4'

Examine your finished work! (go back to (d) until the .SC1 file looks
    the way you want it).

    Please.....RE-EXAMINE your work!

e) After you're sure you have everything the way you want it, you may
run CLOUD.EXE by typing ` CLOUD ' and (ENTER) from within your SEE
    directory.

f) Pick up the created `DAT' file from the left window.

g) Type the North & East Coordinates (press `Y' when ready)

h) Press `Y/N' to append the file to the `DAT' file.

i) Go to SEE menu, load the `DAT-L' file. (if you didn't append
the `CLOUDP.DAT' file automatically, you need to append it
    manually before continue.)

j) Run the `RUN & PROCESS' command, by pressing `ALT+F4'

k) Go to FS4 menu, examine then new SC1 (the one with the `$' sign
to the right). It should have clouds!

HINTS:

 * Cloud covers start as low as 1500 feet. If after running
CLOUD.EXE you find that cloud covers in your SC1 scenery
are too low and you prefered to cover it a little higher,
just edit the `DAT-L' file (not CLOUD.ORG) changing all the
ALTITUDE lines starting with 1500 and up, to the altitude you
   prefer.

NEVER CHANGE THE CLOUD.ORG file...this will screw things up!

Also changing the `DAT-L' file, altitude lines in too many ways,
can make the program useless, from the point of view of
   realistic covering.

 * Unfortunately, once you have added clouds cover to any SC1
file, you will never see then default upper blue screen from
within FS4. If you prefered to have both the covered SC1 file
and the one with that annoying upper blue screen, we suggest
you create one file with the cloud cover and one without.

For example, you can name each one with something like:
AIMPRC+.SC1 for the one with clouds
AIMPRC-.SC1 for the one without clouds

The only problem will arise when you set the AUTOLOAD option to
ON. The computer will bring the SC1 that appear at the top of
the list. (get your own way for this or just set AUTOLOAD option
   to the off position)

CREDITS:

CLOUD.EXE was created after I examined and ran CLOUDKIT by GENE LACY.

We found that Gene's cloud covers on our own SCENERY looked great,
and decided to make this program which can add them automatically
to any SC1 file, via an edited `DAT' file using SEE.

For more information about CLOUDKIT we suggest you download the
CLOUDK.ZIP from Library 6/Scenery in the Compuserve FSFORUM.

Special Thank to: GENE LACY
