Escort Focke-Wulf's with Bf109's
You have been preparing for an
attack on an American airfield for
several days. As the hour draws near,
you enter the flight ready room for
your final briefing.
"As you know, we have had this
attack slated for several days now.
However, I am afraid I have some bad
news. The Americans are arming P-51B
Mustangs on that very airfield. These
could pose a serious threat. As you
also know, P-47C Thunderbolts are
landing there to be refueled and
rearmed. If you can," he says, nodding
to the eager Focke-Wulf pilots,
"reserve ammunition to take these
bogeys out."
The Kommandant turns to you. "You
are to escort the 190's to the
airfield. Although they have P-51's
preparing to take off, you MUST do
your best to protect these
fighter-bombers. Your extra armament
includes the 20mm cannon and four
rocket fired mortars. The Focke-Wulf's
are armed with four 110 lb bombs and
the incendiary cannon in addition to
their standard armament. Good luck."
You fly your plane to the rendezvous
point with the fighter-bombers, and
approach the airfield. You can see the
specks of the Mustangs just beginning
to take off.
