MegaDoom II - Install Instructions

This document will explain how to install the ULTRALaunch Interface 
and the PMW Browser.  For other information such as the ULTRALaunch 
documentation, refer to other text files on this CD-ROM.  For a 
complete listing of all the documentation available on this disk, 
refer to the README.NOW file located in the root directory of the 
MegaDoom II disk.

SECTION ONE
ULTRALaunch Install
==================

Installing ULTRALaunch is easy.   Just run INSTALL.EXE and follow the 
screens.  If you are upgrading from a version of DOOMLaunch (v1.00-v1.02),
INSTALL will ask if you wish to import your WAD Information, Notes, & 
Saved Games.  After installation, and after you have made sure everything 
imported correctly, you may delete all DOOMLaunch related files.  
(Including the DL.DAT (DOOM), and/or DL2.DAT (DOOM II) directories.)

REMEMBER THAT WHEN YOU INSTALL ULTRALAUNCH IT WILL NEED TO KNOW THE PATHS
TO YOUR DOOM, DOOM2, AND HERETIC PROGRAMS AND YOUR WAD FILES ON THE CD-ROM.
THE WAD FILES ON YOUR CD-ROM ARE LOCATED IN THE FOLLOWING DIRECTORIES:

DOOM I AND II WAD FILES:

                    X:\DOOM\WADFILES\ATOL
                            OR
                    X:\DOOM\WADFILES\MTOZ

HERETIC WAD FILES:

                    X:\HERETIC\WADFILES

When you install ULTRALaunch, substitute the "X" in the above path 
statements with your CD-ROM drive letter.  For example, if your 
CD-ROM is drive letter "D" your path would be:

                    D:\DOOM\WADFILES\ATOL
                            OR
                    D:\DOOM\WADFILES\MTOZ

Choose either the "A to L" or "M to Z" directory that you would like 
to start with when you first install ULTRALaunch.  You can always 
re-configure your ULTRALaunch path statements by using the ALT-C
command when inside ULTRALaunch.  

By properly configuring the path statements during the ULTRALaunch
set up, you can play the WAD files directly from the CD-ROM without
transferring them to your hard drive and using up valuable hard drive
space.

Also remember that once you start ULTRALaunch for the first time,
you will have to first select your catalog by hitting the INSERT
key.  

PLEASE READ THE ULTRALAUNCH DOCUMENTATION BEFORE RUNNING THE
PROGRAM FOR BEST RESULTS.

SECTION TWO
PMW Browser Install
==================

We have included a "Browser" to assist you in using this CD.  The browser 
will only work in a Windows environment and is intended to be a way for 
you to navigate the  MegaDoom II disk and move files from the CD-ROM to 
your existing hard drive.  YOU CAN NOT USE THE BROWSER TO PLAY DOOM! You 
may also use other commercial or public domain disk navigation program
that allow you to copy files such as Xtree, Norton Commander, Windows File 
Manager etc., that you may be more comfortable using and have already 
purchased.  We recommend that you use the file management utility that you 
are most comfortable with.

The Browser is located not in the root, but DOOM directory of your 
CD-ROM disk.  It is easy to install and use.

1)  Place your MegaDoom CD in your CD-ROM player.
2)  Start Windows and pull down "File" dialog box from the Windows Program
    Manager.
3)  Click on "New"
4)  Select "Program Group" and click on "OK"
5)  Enter "Pacific Media WorX" in the "Description" box and click "OK"
6)  Pull down the "File" dialog box from the Program Manager again.
7)  Click on "New" again.
8)  Select "Program Item" and click "OK"
9)  In the "Description Box" enter " PMW Doom Browser"
10) Tab down to the "Command Line" box and enter in the drive letter
    and path to your MegaDoom CD.  For Example: F:\doom\browser.exe
