Salutations, my good people.  This is Tsunami here, with a new column, based directly on World Wrestling Entertainment.  Views here are just from my thoughts and are in no way affiliated with WWE.  Let's begin...

Having watching WWE, and previously WWF, for a great portion of my life, I can say that now the company isn't very promising, in my view.  When you have people like me, and countless others, on the Internet making comments that they (WWE) can't handle, you know it's not very promising.  For instance, Triple H, who is RAW's World Champion, is a constant main-eventer, and proves Monday night after Monday night that he is the top-draw superstar and the ONLY top-draw superstar that RAW has to offer.  The only reason, I think, that he is continuing to be in the top spot is because of WWE not taking our comments without a big bang of negativity.  Basically, what I'm saying is that they are making Triple H stay on top and even having him indirectly speak of being on top and never going down because of the Internet fans "saying" that he has a great amount of "pull" with Vince McMahon.  I mean, let's not forget that just because one Superstar is a Champion or the World Champion for that matter, does not mean there isn't a better worker, entertainer, or even better wrestler who can fill the same spot of any WWE Champion.  Of course, I think the WWE is picking up things now going into WrestleMania as they are putting thought into the Rumble and several superstars are slated to return in due time for WrestleMania.

Here is an intermission of my soapbox-talk, so to speak.  Here is my top WWE Superstar picks for 2003!

Chris Jericho - In 2003, I think this will be a sleeper year for this young and great Superstar.
Look for him to become a kind of champ he never has been before.

Booker T - Possibly 2003's best.  Sure, he's a great Tag Team contender, but better in singles
                     competition.

Edge - This dude is going to the top, and it's about time.  He's already had attempts at the
Undisputed Championship, and I think he will win it -- more likely at the end of the year.

Jeff Hardy - Give him a more serious role, and he's champ material.

Brock Lesnar - Although not my favorite, he'll probally main-event this year's WrestleMania.

The returns of several Superstars (hopefully) this year, can possibly make the industry more worthwhile then it has been in quite some time.  I believe, that since the WCW/ECW Invasion, and even later as the Brand Extension, WWE hasn't been the same, and Nielson's ratings prove that.  I would also assume that the name change (although a slight change) had a major effect on the company, both good and bad.  I am really looking forward to the return of the Rattlesnake, Stone Cold Steve Austin.  I hope he accepts the RAW X Invitation (If there was one, I've not heard any official reports) and that will be his return.  It seems as though, speaking with various people that I am the only person who wants Austin to return.  Almost everyone else says "NU-UH, that ain't gonna happen," as Stone Cold himself says.

Another major return is of the People's Champion, The Rock, who is slated for an early 2003 return, as said by Jim Ross in the Ross Report several weeks ago.  "Mr. Hollywood" as he is called by many Internet fans, will finally make his (in my opinion, lets not forget) overdue PERMANENT return to his true home and better-half talent  -  the squared circle.  Yes, I liked his character roles in the films he has been in, but I think he belongs in the ring.  Like the Austin situation, not many people I speak with like The Rock's character.

Other Superstars that are to return are Rhyno, hopefully to RAW, and supposedly there are to be developmentals who are stepping up to the plate, like John Cena, and even more recently, Team Angle - Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin.

Well, that's all for this week.  Come back next week when I write about WWE video games, WWE Live Events, and what I really think about Paul Heyman and his "clients"!
