How High

What would you do in order to get into college? For Jamal (Redman) and Silas (Method Man), they feel that smoking a little weed would help calm their nerves during their entrance tests. Little do they know that their high ends up doing more than they could imagine. The special weed they smoke was grown with the ashes of their old friend who recently died. Once high, the ghost of their dead friend, Ivory (Chuck Davis), appears and helps them ace the exam. With perfect scores, they can get into any college they want. Believe it or not, Harvard wants these two pot heads. Why you ask? Could it be because of their perfect scores, or could it be because they would promote a more diverse crowd. If you guess diversity, then get on with your bad self and light up a fat one my brotha. Diversity is what Admissions is after. What do these guys want? Girls. Fine girls!

How High is another pot smoking comedy which will earn it's rank among fan favorites like Half Baked, Friday, and Road Trip. Not only does it relate to pot smoking crowds, but it also relates to those college goers and party animals too. How High also includes the talents of Lark Voorhies (Saved By The Bell), Jeffrey Jones (Beetlejuice), Hector Elizondo (NYPD Blues), and Mike Epps (The Next Friday). Their combined talents create the ultimate college experience that would make anyone go out and take a course in Smokology 420.

Most of this movie isn't suitable for younger viewers. There is strong language, an extremely HIGH emphasis on drug use, and comical sexual situations (Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!). There's even a scene where the grave of Benjamin Franklin is desecrated. Despite all that, plus giving Harvard a bad name, I found this movie to be funny and very entertaining. I think the best way to enjoy a movie about getting high is to be high while watching it. Don't blame me for any legal problems you run into; I'm just making a simple suggestion. I do believe however that every college student needs to let go now and again and release that tension that studying and exams bring. Whether it's girls or weed, go with whatever works for you. For Silas and Jamal, that outlet is both of them.
