What is a Mini-Show?
Our definition of a mini-show is a collection of lights, sounds, and motion that have been synchronized and timed to create interesting, automated live entertainment.
What will our Show Controller do?
Our Show Controller will allow the user to design a show of length not more than 3 minutes, store the show information in memory, and execute the show as a stand-alone controller.
What will make up the Show Controller?
The Show Controller consists of 2 parts:
- The actual hardware with ports to connect up to 4 incandescent lamps, 8 "Digital" Outputs, and a digital voice recorder. An IR sensor will start the show by remote. The timing information will be downloaded into RAM from the host PC after it is created using the GUI below.
- A Graphical User Interface using a host PC to allow the show designer to cut and paste show functions over a time period of 3 minutes.
What are the possible elements of the show?
Available to the show designer are the following functions (minimal):
- 4 Incandescent Lamps with the special effects below
- Flash
- Ramp
- Flicker
- 8 Digital (on/off) Outputs with the choice of these DC voltages (±
3V ±
5V ±
12v)
- Solenoids
- LEDs
- Motors
- Start/Stop CD/Tape soundtrack
- Start/Stop Fog Machine
- Start/Stop Strobe Light
- Etc.
- Digital Voice Record and Playback
Additional Function to be added
- Servo Motor Control (max of 2)
- Interactive Mini-Show whereby the show controller using real-time information (such as that gathered by a photocell or PIR detector) to create a show that reacts to situations in real-time.
