We live in the small state of Maryland.  Although it is not a large state, from the Blue Ridge Mountains in Western Maryland to the roaring Atlantic Ocean along our east coast, Maryland is packed full of interesting and exciting places to see.  Visit the Maryland
Office of Tourism Development and Maryland.com for a wide variety of information.

The National Aquarium, full of exotic sea life, is located in Baltimore's beautiful Inner Harbor.  The harbor also offers many other points of interest, including unique shops, fine restaurants and much more.  Baltimore also has wonderful art galaries and museums.  The city is home to the 2000 World Champion Baltimore Ravens football team and the Baltimore Orioles baseball team.  Also, check out our women's professional football team, The Baltimore Burn.

Fort McHenry, which played a vital role in The Revolutionary War, is located in east Baltimore.  We have many other historical points of great interest in Maryland also.

The Civil War history is thick here and there are several
preserved battle fields open to the public for touring.  Each has an information center that offers Civil War information in the forms of live presentations, books, maps, etc.

The capitol of Maryland is
Annapolis.  This small city has a lovely preserved historic section near and including the harbor.  Annapolis has very unique shops that offer unusual items from the area.  The United States Navel Academy is also located in Annapolis.

Maryland is a great place for seafood fresh from the Chesapeake Bay.  Have you ever had a steamed Chesapeake Bay Blue Crab, a Maryland crab cake, or any of the other delicious seafood from the bay?  If not, then you are missing some of the finest seafood in the country.  Not a seafood lover?  We also have wonderful
restaurants with delicious cuisines from all over the world.

Right off of Maryland's east coast is Assateague Island in the Atlantic Ocean.  On the island are Assateague National and State Parks.   You may camp there or just visit for the day and enjoy the island fun.  The famous
wild ponies that live on Assateague Island roam quietly among the sun bathers on the beach.  On the main coast near Assateague Island is the popular resort Ocean City.  There are a several State and National Parks in Maryland that are located right on the shore.

Do you enjoy camping?  Maryland has many national, state, and private
campgrounds located throughout the state, from the mountains to camping right on the beach along the Atlantic Ocean.

Maryland is also the next-door neighbor to
Washington, D. C., the capitol of our great nation.  Washington has far too many exciting things to offer to even begin to list them here.  Click on the link above to learn more about Washington, D. C.

A trip to Maryland is full of fun, adventure, and a never ending string of exciting things to do and enjoy. We hope you'll come visit our state soon.  You won't be disappointed !

God Bless the U. S. A.
