THE SURVIVOR

Back tracking through the fears.
On a journey of healing.
Running into a little girl's tears.

Why must it be this way?
Why do you rip my soul from me?
How could my love you betray?

You persist on your quest to challenge
me.
My armour is strong now.
You will loose don't you see?

I've grown so much being away from you.
I've tasted freedom, I wont give it up.
My love and friendship is only for a chosen few.

For they cause me no harm or grief.
They bring happiness and share their love.
You know of no love.
You collect hearts like a thief.
These poems came from the dark side of me.  Sometimes our pasts creep up, and tries to nip at our heels.  Five years ago I promised myself mine would never haunt me again.
            PAST REPEATS

A slow burning fire sits just below.
On the surface the sun shines bright.
Like a volcano the burning begins to grow.
I keep all my rage inside, so no one can tell.
The more I'm pushed past my limits.
The sulphur you begin to smell.
The tears start to sting my eyes.
Some pain is released.
There's so much more, you just don't realize.
You get under my heart, and leave your mark.
You wont destroy me.
Your my nightmare, but again I will leave you forever in the dark.
