I wish to thank everyone who cast a ballot in the last election, no matter who you voted for. Participating in our electoral system by voting is on of the most important things you can. For those of you here in Cape Breton - Canso who voted for me, all 2641 of you, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. We were the only party to go up in numbers, while all the others saw their numbers drop in this riding from the 2006 results. This gives us solid footing for the future.
I would also like to congratulate Mr. Cuzner on his re-election, and Mr. Murphy and Mr. MacNeill on their campaigns. I believe this was a positive and productive campaign for the riding, and I hope we can all work together for positive change in the months and years ahead.
