Late September, 2001. Bored by the mind-numbing September 11th coverage (although sympathetic, but still bored) Matt Conroy devotes a ton of time and energy updating his website from a Yahoo! Standard profile-type page (with material varying from a primitive bio to web links) to the current, Blue Oyster Cult/Pink Floyd/The Who themed website that you see today. Over the ensuing months Matt Conroy adds incredible material such as the Inferno Pit and the Pit of Prestige
Later 2001. Bud Selig makes his Contraction announcement. The Matt Conroy Website undergoes its only full-body change, becoming an anti-contraction and pro Minnesota Twins website. In a few weeks, when Matt got bored of this, the website reverted back to a form of its original format, which exists to this very day. The Baseball Pit of Disgrace is the only surviving remnant of this anti-contraction format.
Early '02. Receiving a second rush of inspiration Matt Conroy adds crap such as the Who time travel Vortex and the Ode to Denny Green as well as the launching of Website Games such as the King of the Wussy Music ID contest and the March to 2000 Hits
March '02. The Syndicated Columns feature showcasing people other than Matt Conroy opens.
September '02. In one of the last major update sprees, the Matt Conroy Website adds the Homecoming Q and A, the Chuck Jaeger Commemorative Weblink, and the Political Parties Revealed
Early '04. Responding to countless death threats, the Matt Conroy Website adds its first new content in over a year with the Methods for Avoiding Alcohol segment, months later - the What Happened segment is added. |
