Mah nishtanah halaila hazeh mikol-haleilot?
Why is this night different from all other nights?
Sheb'chol-haleilot anu ochlin chametz u-matzah halaila hazeh kulo matzah:
On all other nights we eat leavened or unleavened bread, but on this night only unleavened:
Shebchol-haleilot anu ochlin she'ar yerakot halaila hazeh [kulo] maror
On all other nights we eat any type of vegetable, on this night [only] maror:
Sheb'chol-haleilot ein anu matbilin afilu pa'am echat halaila hazeh-shetei fe-amim:
On all other nights we are not required to dip even once, but on this night we dip twice:
Sheb'chol-haleilot anu ochlin bein yoshvin uvein mesubin halaila hazeh kulanu mesubin
On all other nights we eat sitting or reclining, this night only reclining.
