| Oopps! Alex exclaimed as she opened the door. She blushed at RIP and Jeff who were obviously hoping no one was using that particular dressing room. Sorry. Didnt realize this was anyones dressing room. RIP offered. Obviously. Jericho remarked from behind Alex. Well just be going now. Jeff replied, taking RIPs hand and heading for the door. Alex looked at Chris as the door closed behind them; she couldnt stop the giggles as Chris rolled his eyes. Chris dressed for his match as Alex worked. When his match was called, she walked him down the hall. She walked in to Kane and 'Takers dressing room only to interrupt Storm and Kane as she had RIP and Jeff. What is this? Cupid in the building or something? Valentines was a few months ago people. She remarked smiling. Kane grinned sheepishly, as Alex laughed when she saw Storm blush slightly; Alex waved her hand, What-ever. ~~*~~ A large group was in the hotel restaurant having a very late dinner after the show. So what are you guys doing this weekend? Steve is off isnt he? Alex asked LaShana casually. Dont know. He hasnt mentioned anything . . . Her thought trailed off as Steve started whispering in her ear. LaShana got a wicked grin across her face as she whispered back. Were going to bed early, I think. LaShana announced to Alex suddenly. Alex smiled and looked at Steve. Tired. Was his only response. Alex smiled, Ah huh. She replied, as she watched them get up and leave. Alex turned and leaned against Chris whod heard the exchange as well, I think theres something in the air around here. She mentioned. Or the water. He added, nodding around the room. As Alex looked around she noticed nearly every couple was huddled together and speaking in hushed whispers. Looks like nothing is going on tonight. Alex observed. Come on, Ill walk you upstairs. Jericho offered. As they walk to the elevator, Chris put his arm around her waist and held her tightly. As they rode up in the elevator Chris held her against him despite the elevator being empty. When they got to her room, he turned and leaned in to kiss her goodnight. The sensation of his lips sending all coherent thought out window. She stepped back to lean against the wall for support with Chris following her. One hand was on the wall above her shoulder; the other sliding along her waist, his thumb slid across her stomach just under her shirt. She involuntarily gasps and despite every nerve ending in her body screaming otherwise she broke the kiss. Its late. We have an early flight. She mumbled. Chris slid his hands around her waist, while she fumbled to reach into her pocket for her room card. Its not that late. He mumbled into her hair, and then began kissing her neck. She managed to open the door with shaky hands. When she reached for the light switch; Chris placed his hands firmly on her hips turning her to face him. Leave it off. He muttered against her lips. Alex closed her eyes as she smiled slightly, both walking, Alex backwards, into the room. Alex felt her breath catch as she tried to speak when she felt Chris hands moving slowly along her body. She stepped back suddenly trying for distance, but Chris only moved with her. When she moved again, her legs bumped into the edge of the bed and she tumbled unto the bed. Alex laughed lightly as Chris fell on the bed beside her. The sounds left when Chris reached out to slide his finger down the side of her face. She bit her lip when she looked up into his eyes; seeing the heat in his blue iris, making them darker, Chris. Alex stammered. Chris traced her lips lightly, then down along her jaw before sliding his hand around her neck. He leaned closer, lowering his head he kissed her neck softly. Then he began kissing up her neck and behind her ear, as he moved his hand from around her neck and down her arm. Alex was having trouble breathing; the air was caught in her throat. She felt Chris' hand slide from her arm to rest low on her hip. Alex mind raced as she laid her hand on his arm, and it slide higher when Chris' hand slid under her shirt to rest on her stomach. Chris continued to kiss along her neck; his hand began to move slowly up. Alex hands planted firmly on Chris shoulders, pushing him away. No . . .wait . . .damn! she rambled. Alex moved away from Chris, quickly rolling to the side of the bed. She moved to sit on the edge, placing her forehead to her knees, her hands shaking as she dragged them through her hair. Chris moved to sit next to her, only to hear her muttering in Spanish. Alex . . . he began softly, laying his hand on her shoulder. Alex winced and cringed away from him, Dont. Please dont. she asked. As she did she could feel Chris confusion and hurt as he moved his hand away. Without looking at him, You didnt do anything wrong. She whispered, lifting her head slightly. Alex, I didnt mean . . . He began. Its not you. She snapped, unconsciously, raising her head higher. She closed her eyes and grumbled angrily. I cant . . . .I thought I could . . .I want to. She rambled. Im sor . . . Chris started again and stopped when he saw Alex shake her head, stern look on her face telling him he would be sorry if he apologized. You have nothing to apologize for. She began. This is my fault. Talk to me. He asked. Doesnt it bother you that we havent slept together? She blurted without thinking. She groaned inwardly, Forget I asked that. She asked just as quickly. Hey. He whispered. Were no where if you cant ask me anything thats on your mind, okay? he asked. He waited for her to turn to him and nod. To answer your question . . .bother? No. Confused and disappointed? Maybe. But Im trying to understand why. He informed her. Do you want to tell me? She fidgeted where she sat for a moment, then stood to pace. She fought with the inner demons and the insecurities in her head for a few minutes before she answered. How many lovers have you had? she asked bluntly. Dammit! she gritted dragging her hands through her hair again. My mouth seems to have a mind of its own tonight. You dont have to answer that. She offered. Chris rose and crossing the room, he took her hand hesitantly. When she didnt resist, pulled her into his arms, holding her tightly, I like your mouth remember. He mumbled against her lips. She allowed herself to be drawn into the kiss. Ill always answer anything you ask me. He stated after breaking the kiss, feeling her relax slightly. Thats kind of what Im afraid of. She whispered back. Do you want just a number or names? he asked. It took Alex looking at him to realize he was teasing. She swatted his arm and walked away from him. Im trying to be serious. She scolded. She sat back down on the bed and looked up at him. Chris stood there for a moment; he tried to hide the grin in the pout that was on his face at being scolded. I had a few serious relationships, only one VERY serious. But I was never one to sleep around. He offered after a minute. How serious? she asked, not precisely sure she wanted to know. I asked her to marry me. He stated. Alex eyes went wide with shock. You were engaged? she asked quietly. I said I asked her. He stated flatly, she felt his heart tug with regret and sorrow. She said no. Alex stated, it wasnt a question. She said we were too young. That she wasnt ready to be involved with just one person. That she loved me but didnt want . . . .or wouldnt marry me. Chris informed her quietly. Alex hated her, whoever she was, instantly for causing him pain. How long were you together? Little over two years. He answered. I told her if she wasnt looking for a serious relationship that I didnt see the point of us being together anymore. We broke up after that. Chris finished. Arent we getting off subject? he asked hurriedly. Alex dropped her head, she felt like such a heel. Looking up when she felt Chris confusion. What? he asked. Im so selfish. She stated plainly. I have such tunnel vision sometimes. It never occurred to me you had a past to deal with. Alex admitted. I forget the world doesnt revolve around me. Alex grinned. She was a fool to let you go . . .but selfishly Im glad she did. Tell me your past. He asked getting them back on subject. Alex took a deep breath; Ive only had one lover. She stated quietly. I gave Paul something I cant get back or give to someone else. Then he used me and left me. She said quietly. Chris heard the pain in her voice. Part of him was angry for her and part of him wanted to comfort her. You really loved him didnt you? Chris asked quietly. After a minute Alex nodded, It took me a long time to even believe that after we broke up, but yes. And I have to believe he loved me, at least at the time. She answered quietly. I cant get my mind around being with someone like that again. She confessed. I know thats not terribly fair considering the way things have been going. Alex stated. She suddenly felt him get agitated and watched as his shoulders tensed. Of course its not. Chris snapped. Cause you - know, Im only sticking around here for one thing. Well I . . . she stammered, shocked at his outburst. Thats not what I meant. I didnt mean it like that. I just thought . . . You just thought me a heartless bastard whod walk away from you because I cant get you in bed. He replied flatly. Alex stared at him blankly for a moment, and then sighed heavily, Well, when you say it like that, it sounds stupid. She mumbled at the floor. Chris watched as she went from ashamed to frustrated in a heartbeat. You seem awfully calm for someone whos being turned down. Dont you want to sleep me? She snapped irritably. Half a second later Alex realized what had come flying out of her mouth; she looked up at Chris to see a half grin on his face and his eyebrow raised. Alex fell back on the bed, putting her hands over her face and closed her eyes. Just swallow your foot Alex; it be a lot less painful. She mumbled to the ceiling. She heard Chris chuckle, and then the bed moved as Chris lay down next to her. Neither saying anything for a moment. Hey you. He whispered, poking her lightly in the stomach. When she only shook her head, he laughed again and pried her hands away from her face. Alex lay there with her eyes still closed; she felt Chris lay his arm across her waist. After a minute she turned her head to him, and opened her eyes slowly. Chris was lying on his side with his head propped up on his hand, looking down at her. The answer to that question, he began leaning over her he kissed her forehead, is yes. He kissed her cheek just below her ear, Yes, I want to make love to you. Laying his forehead against hers, I want to feel your skin against me while you sleep, and wake up with you in my arms. He informed her softly. Smiling when Alexs eyes grew wide and she bit her bottom lip, the thoughts sinking into her head. But contrary to popular belief not all men are idiots. Alex, weve been together for months, weve been friends even longer. Dont you think I know when something is up? That somethings been bothering you. Chris asked. Alex turned on her side toward him, winding her arm around his neck. She buried her face in his shoulder as he slid his arm around her and held her tightly. Like I said. Im selfish sometimes. She mumbled against his neck. "How can you have so much patience with me?" she mumbled. How do you continue to amaze me? she asked softly. Because Im the most amazing man youve ever met. He assured her. Youd be lost without me. You cant live with out me. He continued, sliding his hand along her hip. You have no idea what you did before me, admit it? he demanded, trying to look serious. Alex leaned back so she could look up at him; she twisted her mouth pretending to think. Well . . . she began, now that you mentioned it . . . Well? he asked. Alex brought her finger to her mouth, tapping it against her lips, looking thoughtful. The more he stared at her the harder it got for her to keep a straight face. As his serious intent gaze, Alex couldnt help but giggle. You little . . . Chris leaned over and started tickling her. Despite being over come with laughter she fought back as best she could. Chris soon gained the advantage by pinning her hands above her head. Say uncle. Chris demanded. Breathlessly, Alex conceded, Uncle. Chris lowered his head and kissed her deeply. She marveled at how he made her feel. When he moved slightly, his body gliding againgst hers, her brain caused her to involuntarily tense againgst him and Alex wanted to weep. Chris broke the kiss and rested his lips on her forehead. I should go. He whispered. Alex rose and walked him to the door. As he took the handle Alex grabbed his hand and he turned to her. I do miss you when youre not with me. she informed him softly. Chris smiled, Not tonight you wont. he stated. She looked at him curiously for a moment. Youll dream about me tonight. Chris informed her. Alex bit back a smile by twisting her lips together in a smirk. Oh really? she asked. Youve done it before. He mentioned. One dream that youve obviously let go to your head. She countered. When you fall asleep tonight; Ill be there. Chris continued. My . . .arent we full of ourselves. Alex commented as she crossed her arms and continued to stare at him. Chris smiled and kisses her again. Then opened the door to walk out, smug smile on his face. Arrogant. Alex called after him. He turned to her slowly, shaking his head lightly. "Confident." He corrected. He winked at her as he closed the door. Oohhhh! Alex fumed. Of all the conceited egotistical . . . ~~*~~ Alex sat in the empty dressing room; surprised it was empty at this hour of the show. She was concentrating on her work when she felt hands slide around her waist. Chris . . . she whispered, and giggled when he nibbled behind her ear. Chris . . .isnt your match up soon? she asked, his face still in her neck. Ah- huh. He mumbled as he pulled her up and out of the chair and pulled her to him. In a little while. He mumbled against her lips. She slid her arms around his waist holding him tightly. We dont have time for . . . her words lost as his lips crushed hers in a deep kiss. Just a few minutes. He stated between kisses as he backed her into the table, giving her nowhere to go. Alex giggled, Chris, were live, you cant be late. She stated, but made no move to stop him or move away. Ah-huh. He agreed as he deepened the kiss again. His hands sliding along her hips, pulling her close to hold her against him tightly. Then he slowly moved them from her hips, up to her waist and continued up her back. Alex sighed as Chris trailed kisses from her mouth down one side of her neck. He slowly moved along her throat, tracing her collarbone with his tongue. As he reached the base of her throat he sucked lightly at shallow of her neck causing her to tilt her head back. As Chris continued to the other side of her neck, he placed little kisses up her throat and along her neck until he reached her ear. Answer the phone. He whispered. Huh? What? she asked, not sure shed heard him correctly. The phone is ringing. Answer it. He stated smiling mischievously. Alex jolted awake at the sound of the phone ringing in her room. She opened one eye fractionally to see it was still dark and that the sun wasnt even up. She blindly reached for the phone; missing and knocking over her travel alarm clock before she snatched up the phone. She put it to her ear, This better be important. She mumbled. Are you having pleasant dreams? Chris asked. Alex eyes flew open for a second then immediately closed again. She groaned inwardly, but couldnt stop the smile on her face. Actually, she began, I was dreaming. She offered calmly. Really? He asked innocently. Hmmmm. She mumbled. It was rather interesting. I told you it would be. Chris replied smugly. Alex could feel him smiling through the phone. You think youre pretty cute, doncha? she asked. She heard him chuckle, Pleasant dreams. Ill see you in the morning. He said sweetly as he hung up the phone. Alex half groaned half laughed as she hung up on her end. Hes too perfect. She though as she rolled on to her side, One of these days youre really going to wake up. Thats the thought that echoed through her mind as she drifted back to sleep. |
