Believe Me - Part I
Introduction:
By popular request (demand) Ive decided to continue this.  This is a three part series called, Love is Lost.  This is part two.  This story picks up approximately 5 years after Youll Never Know.
What is it Linda? Spit it out! Vanessa admonished.  What? her sister asked, trying to act innocent.

Oh please! Vanessa laughed.  Youve been killing yourself all afternoon.

Vanessa should have known something was up when her sister Linda insisted they go shopping that afternoon.  Vanessa distaste for shopping was in direct contrast to her sisters overwhelming passion for it.

Vanessa tried to stay patient as her sister dragged her from store to store, knowing she would get to whatever it was in her own time.  Now they were on their way home and Linda still hadnt mentioned the reason for the trip.

What is it Linda?  Whatever it is, it cant be that bad. Vanessa stated quietly.  She was beginning to think the worse.

Linda hesitated for a few more minutes, finally turning in her seat so she could watch her sisters face as Vanessa drove.

Mark and his wife are getting a divorce. She announced quickly.

Vanessa tensed marginally knowing her sister was watching her.  It that what you waited all afternoon to tell me?  Good grief . . . I though youd killed someone or something. Vanessa answered lightly.

Is that
all you have to say?! Linda asked.

Vanessa only shrugged, Im sorry for Mark. She finally replied.  Are you going to call him? Linda asked.

Mark and I havent talked to each other in a long time.  I doubt hed want to hear from me in the middle of a divorce.  Nessa state wryly.

He needs his friends right now.  Apparently his wife is saying a lot of trash to get a better settlement.  Linda informed her.

Vanessa only shook her head.  She knew Marks career as a wrestler had really taken off and he was incredibly popular.  Shed even seen the shows a couple of times when she remembered.  In her daydream she nearly missed the exit and snapped back before Linda could say anything.

I think you should call him. Linda suggested.  Nessa shook her head again, Thats not a good idea. Vanessa answered.  Mark made his decision. She mumbled as she pulled into her sisters driveway.

Mark needs his friends. Linda insisted.  Then I know you and Jacob will be there for him. Vanessa replied quietly.  Nessa wasnt sure she even qualified as one of Marks friends anymore.
