I
really enjoyed your webpage -- the Global School Bus idea and your newsletter
on literacy were great! (Bob -- have you seen Pam's webpage at www.geocities.com/dvenewa ?) Things are starting
to develop in Dallas for a xxx website. Lynee has been working on it, but I'm
not clear as to what it will contain... I know the xxx handbook is supposed to
be on it, some of the Post High school resources that Lynda Shas developed, and
maybe some of the most relevant articles from past PTOs. Both Lynee and Bob are
travelling right now so it's not been a good time to communicate. Your webpage
illustrates some great ways to make information available to families and I'll
pass along your suggestions. I think we at US Family Services want to set up
something similar, too. I just don't know how all these could best coordinate.

I wish Intl Family Services (Penny and I), and you could get together to
brainstorm and get some projects moving in coordination. (Bob -- Pam said she
plans to be in the U.S. mid-December through early January, and March through
July.)
I'd very much like
to talk face-to-face with you. Lets keep talking. March should be a
good time for me as May will be another transition time and I'm also hoping to
attend the International Reading Association conference in San Antonio that
month.

I'll be meeting with US' Personnel department next week. I'm trying to understand what they already do in the area of addressing family needs and hope to work out better coordination between them and Family Services.
I wonder how it went? This is a
topic of deep interest to me at the moment. There certainly needs to be
some clarification of who is doing what and when. The thing that I've
seen in particular is the need for making resources available ... the trick is
doing so in a timely fashion and I think internet is going to be a key factor.
Hope
to see you soon,
pam
