This Section will be dedicated to my take on the Great Propaganda Machine Also known as the Media |
| News is entertainments and circuses. It is also used as propaganda tool in the USSA, er, USA. In reality the Petersen case is about a man who murdered his wife (or is so accused) something that happens all the time, everywhere, has happened millions of time in the past, and as far as I can tell will continue to happen for many years to come. However the National and INTERNATIONAL news outlets feel there is a need to raise this one case up as some icon for the 21st century. Perhaps we will see new Wife Killing Laws emerge as we saw new laws emerge after the Smart Case. On December 13 2003 two events took place simultaneously, One the World was told that Saddam had been captured. Great, wonderful. Yet the second one, the one that directly affects every man, woman and child in the USA was that Bush signed into law more Patriot Act or Patriot Act 2 There is also a push to make ALL media under one authority It has a name, it is called Media Concentration. I am a Conspiracy Theorist. I admit to that title now. I have always distrusted the Feds, the Man, the Leaders of all nations. To me they are all cut from the same cloth as Adolf Schicklgruber Hitler. I have always views the Media as a Propaganda Machine. They do not just report news, they report the news in a manner which helps you to form the popular opinion, the accepted feelings that is desired by all American's. Micheal Moore's "Shooting for Columbine" explored this in depth when it came to Gun Violence, Fear of Violence and the small fact that though American's DO NOT own more guns that other Western Nations Per capita, it DOES have the greater gun violence and FEAR of gun violence. The Real difference is the news reports and how the NEWS is handled. On 9-11-01 an interesting thing took place, a lot of younger children seeing the same images of the two towers being hit by planes and collapsing could not distinguish that this was a REPLAY of the same event. In their minds this was happening all over the place, in every city, each replay being a "new" set of terrorist events. So for the Adult Mind it was only one pair of towers that collapsed, for children it was hundreds of towers. In the book Brave New World, it is proposed that "sixty-two thousand four hundred repetitions make one truth" This is a form of thought control, it is a form of brain washing. Unfortunately the way the news is reported, we find that this brain washing is in truth being used. We are told the same thing many times over, thus making it a universal truth. We are repeatedly shown rare events, over and over and over again. We are programed to believe that murders, rapes, gun violence, child abductions, etc, etc, etc, are way up there. When in fact we are well beyond the peak crime spree, if anything, we here in America are enjoying a peaceful time where crime is dwindling. Yet if you ask the average person on the street if they are safer today than there where in the 1990s, they will believe that crime is far worse that it was. Not only are they being told by the News Outlets that Crime is rampant, but they very pulpits which they look to for morals and guidance in these "dangerous times" are telling a story of woe, painting a picture of moral degradation and death and appalling crime which are all signs of the End of The World. The Second Hand Smoke issue is based upon an inconclusive, and terribly small number statistically speaking. However the Media will hype up the number of Second Hand Smoke Deaths, failing to tell you that compared to deaths where no second hand smoke was found, the number is a fraction of a percent. Meaning 1 in thousands will suffer at the exposure of second hand smoke (only 3,000 may MAY die from second hand smoke per year that report is still inconclusive). Compared to the number of deaths by auto fatalities one would think that we would logically make new far sweeping laws to ban autos which kill 42,815 per year - and there is no doubt, the count is done, dead body near or in auto. So this is the News and the Way we want you to think it happened. David |
