The Kezman Show(4/18/04)
Kezman following his 2nd goal
Bayern played host to 2nd place Manchester United on Sunday, in what was a crucial game for their title hopes.  Mateja Kezman played like a man possessed, willing Bayern to victory.  The match stats may show a very even game in terms of possession and shots on and off target, but it was what Kezman did with his shots that mattered.  He started off the scoring in the 19th minute when Gerrard headed the ball forward for Ballack, but it was knocked away by Helguera only to end up at his feet inside the 18 and he drilled it by Howard.  The second goal of the evening came in the 70th minute when Helguera tripped Kezman in the box.  The Serbia &
Montenegro International stepped up to take the spot kick and put it in for his 2nd of the night and 3rd of the season.  United really squandered any opportunites they created for themselves desperately missing the injured Shevchenko, who will return for their next fixture.  It will be interesting to see if either manager makes changes to their team tactics or squad selection in their next fixtures.
