FINALLY! Totti Strikes for Liverpool Win (3/17/04)
Totti is the hero
Liverpool fans finally had something to cheer about after watching their team finally pick up some points on the season with a 1-0 win over Hibs.  Francesco Totti scored the lone goal but could have easily been the goat.  In the 62nd minute, a penalty was awarded to Liverpool after Lennon pushed Totti in the box on a Figo corner. Totti stepped up to take the kick, but his penalty shot was blocked by Hibs goalie Carlo Cudicini, but Totti gathered the rebound and managed to drive it into the top
corner of the net.  That was only Liverpool's 2nd goal in 3 games, but good enough for the victory on the night.  It's obvious Kyle Lebron will want to get this potentially powerful offense rolling.  Unfortunately for Hibs, Ailton missed just in front of goal with 3 minutes to go after Rafael van der Vaart chipped the ball into the box and found Ailton for a volley attempt, but the Brazilian sent the ball over the crossbar.
