Project Bikes
2003 Yamaha R6 Race Bike
When I first recieved the bike it was in shambles as you can see from the pictures below. But I knew that the extent of the damage was minor and most likely the culprit of a low speed, low side. The front end was the only part of the bike that was in need of attention. It looked as if it must have hit a curb or pole, but to the naked eye it looked like the forks or lower triple only needed replacement. Only a visit to the frame shop will reveal the true condition of the chassis. Cross your fingers for me. :) The rest of the bike was the result of the previous owners stripping the parts with any resale value off of the bike.
Parts:
Vortex Clipons, Vortex Adj. Rearsets, Vortex Sliders, Vortex fairing stay, Leo Vince exhaust, Hotbodies Race bodywork, Rear shock, Forks (race tech internals), Lower triple, ECU, Renthal grips, EBC HH front and rear, Goodridge -2 stainless brake lines, 2005 radiator (2 fans instead of 1), GPR steering damper, GMD computrack
Update: 3/10/06
I was hoping to get the bike up and running in a month. But the bike is only half way done and the month is about up. The hardest parts are over though. The bikes runs, it's just a matter of waiting for parts and putting them all on. I'm hoping to have it up and running in about 3 weeks. See you at the track!
