John L. Stouffer

JOHN L. STOUFFER was fifteen years old when his father sold him to go to war for a Jamison boy.  The Stouffers were poor farmers, and John agreed to do this for his family.

During a forage for food for their regiment, John was shot in the leg.

John served his three year term, and then re-enlisted and was discharged due to the end of the war.
