Everyone was raving about Survivor so I decided to give it a try. I couldn't sit through the first 5 minutes of the show! Sure you don't see people eating rats on F*R*I*E*N*D*S but then again, who'd want to anyway?
It's not just an invasion of privacy and actually taping everything certain people do; it;s the fact that some of the situations are stupid and demeaning. For example, Survivor: that's already been done with Gilligans Island. Fear Factor: putting people in life threatening situations and whoever endures the most pain gets $50 000. I'm sorry but 50 000 is not worth lying down in a bathtub for 4 whole minutes while 3 thousand rats nibble at your measly pink flesh. Big Brother: putting 12 people in a house with cameras in every crack and corner with no contact to the outside world. Right. what if they're mother was dying would they tell them? or wait until the show is over and the mother is dead? ALso, the thought that there are camera's in the bathroom really relaly scares me.
So like I said what is the world of television entertainment coming to? Are producers running out of ideas or just trying to create a new breed of television?
