Major-General Roelof T. Overakker, born 1890, was during the Dutch East Indies Campaign 1941-1942 a KNIL Territorial Commander for Mid-Sumatra Island. He surrendered to the Japanese forces on March 28th, 1942, near the town of Kutatjane, west of Kabanjahe (north of Sumatra Island). In 1945, shortly before the end of the war, he was executed by the Japanese.
