| A website dedicated to the Dutch Black Metal Underground ONHEIL BIOGRAPHY In 1998, a project called Godslastering was founded by Amok. After a line-up change, the project's name was changed into Svartalv and a very limited demo tape was released. In 1999, some new songs were recorded. The name was changed again, now into Onheil, and in January 2000 the first official demo 'Sterf' was released. Shortly after the release of 'Sterf', a real drummer was found ('Sterf' was recorded using a drumcomputer) and a new demo called 'The Beginning' was recorded, but due to the fact that the mix turned out to be extremely bad, the band decided not to release the demo. The band started to rehease regularly though and accepted an offer to play live at Elektra, Sliedrecht on February 17, 2001. Shortly after their debut gig, the band started to record their second demo 'We Hebben De Hel Gezien', of which the recordings due to several reasons were finished almost a year later (January 2002). The band played a second gig at Baroeg, Rotterdam on January 25, 2002 and some more gigs followed. New recordings were made in 2002 for a 7" EP, which in the end was released as the MCD 'The Threat' by War Cry Productions. Currently, the band is rehearsing for the recording of their debut full-length CD.
