| A website dedicated to the Dutch Black Metal Underground LUGUBRE BIOGRAPHY Lugubre started as a solo project in 1999 by Striid, and released the demo "Kriich" in 2000. Soon he completed his horde with 3 extra members. After some rehearsing, they released "Promo 2001" and did several gigs with bands such as: Nifelheim, Maniac Butcher, Urgehal, Tsjuder, Black Witchery and more. While taking a break for writing new songs, they released a split CD with Misantropy (USA) in 2002, and the demo "Bloodshedding Warhymns" in 2003. After this release Lugubre entered the studio to record their full length album "Anti Human Black Metal". Due some circumstances this album was delayed until March 2004 when it finally spread its plague on this world. This album contains a mix of fast brutal anti human black metal with some old school influences. After this album their drummer Kriich decided to leave the band and stopped with all his drum activities to start a new career as full time alcoholic. In 2005 two new alcoholic warriors joined the Lugubre Horde, Fjildslach on the Battle Axe and the Vokills were taken over by Necrophallus. In this setting we recorded a split CD with Teratism and did several gigs. In 2007 Necrophallus left the band and was replaced by Asega. And in 2008 after years of duty our bassplayer Iezelzweard left the band and is replaced for the moment (session) by Swerc. With this new refreshing line-up we will enter the studio this summer to record our 2nd full-length to destroy the stages of Europe.
