Handling
Hamsters when first bought must not be handled straight away as they will be in a state of shock having been moved from there former cage. As they will be scared they will probably go and hide in a corner or hide in the bedding or somewhere where they think they will be save. Your hamster(s) will most definatly bite you when you pick them up, don`t be put off by this your hamster is proberly  thinking you are threatning it. If you get bitten just gently put the hamster(s) back into the cage. After you have handled your hamster(s) they will stop biting you and they will gain your trust.
Never squeese your hamster when you pick it up. The best way to pick your hamster out of its cage is to put two of your fingers round their waist and your free hand surpporting their bottom, or you could put your hands on the floor so your hamster(s) can crawl on to your hand. Your hamster(s) should love to come out of its cage and if you are going to let your hamster run around a room you will have to block all ways out of the room so it won`t escape and once you have done this just double check to make sure and maybe even triple check if you really want to!
