So we're having a NEIGHBORHOOD yard sale! Clean out the attic, the garage, the closets and find all you don't need! Make money. Well up into the attic I go! Time to see what's up there I don't like! Ghads.. this place is chuck full and another attic to go after this.. (shudder)
After working for awhile I thought I'd take a break, have something cold to drink and sit, you can't stand in the attics they built in this house.. your on your knees!
Well when I reached for the cola.. and took a swig it was warm! I checked the fridge and then realized it had not turned off for quite a long time. Checked the ice cubes and they were melted. Well surprise.. the fridge is only 7 yrs old.. so I call repair service dept. the service man came out the next day, walked in looked and said "bad compressor over $500 to fix" and walked out.. dang inconsiderate.
Well I called the major dept store where we purchase the fridge and asked a refund on my insurance. I got it. Well still no Fridge and I would have to wait for 5 days before the amount was credited to my account. Well no matter I turned the fridge into an ice box bought some ice at the local rush in and get out.. Things were working fairly well. (glad I was raised in the aage of the ice box!)
I went to Mass on Sunday morning and when I got home there was a message for me on my voice mail. My neighbor had bought his wife a new side by side with all the bells and whistles and they were giving me the old one. all of 2 yrs old. Must I tell you I was in 7th. Heaven? Well the fridge was here within 30 min of my return call. Of course the only place to put it was infront of the china closet and then I plugged it in to cool it down.
Well in the mean time since I had money in my pocket from Mother's day and a win from Smarty Jones.. off to Walmart I go. I was on a mission and what do I see as I go into seasonal section, THE SWING, I want a swing in my back yard to relax and enjoy but mostly for when I come home after surgery. Now to get it home. My friend kept saying "you'll never get it in the car!" "Ain't puttin it in the car.. going into the trunk!" "It'll never work!" "Stand back and watch me work.. see how it's done." The young man put the box in the trunk and I tied it down along with the trunk.. I got it home just fine!! Lots of egg on faces that day. I felt triumphant!
When I got home I left the box in the trunk until I got something to drink then we unloaded it . WE put all the food stuffs into the new fridge and I unplugged the old one. Well that was a job well done.
The next Morning I took the doors off the old fridge and put them out side. Did daily chores and after dinner put more of the swing together. My neighbor came over and took the fridge outside on the porch and then I moved the new one into place.
Tuesday was a normal day and the after dinner I completed putting the swing together and enjoyed it but I could not do it with out Sparkys help! He took all the plastic off the metal parts. Big help he is. As we sat watching the sunset the two of us were happy. Sparks likes the swing to.. so guess I have a friend to share it with. OH next week I'll be putting together a fountain. Want one of those also for my "Recovery Spa".
Oh the Yard Sale, well I am cleaning out the attics.
You never know what you can do until you do it!
