DUSTY'S Then and Now
ALMOST FOUR MONTHS!
Well , its almost four months that I have been at Wal-Mart. Time does fly and I still love my job. I enjoy getting up and going to work. Some mornings I have to pack a lunch, some I dont, My schedule is not a set schedule but who cares! Variety is nice.
I have now gotten to the point where I come home have a glass of tea or coffee, depending on the weather, then take a short nap, eat dinner and designate 2 hours of inside or outside work. ( I prefer the outside work.)
I learn something new everyday. I am beginning to recognize the regulars and its a good thing. Instead of saying Hi welcome to Wal-Mart all the time I can say , Hello, nice seeing you again! Some come in with walkers, canes, or wheel chairs. I ask how ya feelin today , they will reply and Ill ask if they need help in shopping. Some of them do require assistance and I get someone to help them. Somedays, I am asked to help out at self check, thats a relief from the front door.
The heat we have had here , in the 90s along with the humidity has taken its toll on everyone. The store felt like there was no AC at all, but the elderly kept coming in and enjoying the coolness. Yesterday afternoon, we had two police officers on bikes come in and take advantage of the AC, after a few minutes they were off again into the heat. Some job , I felt lucky.
Of course the shoplifters are still trying and were still catching them, well most of them . They are a canny bunch! I know more of my co-workers and they know me. Now thats a nice thing.
Now heres some news for you. A couple that works in Lawn and Garden became engaged and Friday last they had a bridal shower for her in Lawn and Garden , and come September 03, they will be married there with the blessings of Wal-Mart. They are two of the nicest people I know. I wish them happiness, course they already have that and how lucky can you be? Who says you cant find what you need at Wal-Mart?
