ONE
*How can you not love a bright Los Angeles sunshine? Honestly, even if you find the big fake breasted women of southern California offensive, and think that the insta tans and fake and bake joints are beyond obsurd, you can't hate on perfect sunny days, sun shining, everyone enjoying life and having a good time. This isn't one of those days. It's raining outside of Dusty J's house, and the man himself looks through his closed living room window, looking out at the tears of the heavens falling from above. In the kitchen is Greg Dixson, who is preparing one of his rainy day specialties, his homemade Dixson Dixy Chilli, with beans. This should have been a training day, not a raining day, but you can't always predict the weather, hell, the weather man on Channel Five News predicted a sunny day with highs up to 80 degrees and lows of only 70. Dusty is eagerly anticipating his big chance to shine at ICWA's first pay-per-view event Aggravated Assault, where he will be facing not one, two, or three opponents, but four. He defends his World Television Title against Violent Bryan, and then he gets his first opportunity at World Title glory since about this time last year when he wrestled defending EFW Champion Jake Snypes, beating him for the strap and winning his first World Title. Greg hollers at Dusty that the chilli is ready, and brings in two big bowls of it for him and his friend, and sets them on the dinner trays placed conveniently by the couch that sits right across from the television set. Dusty walks over towards his tray and takes a seat on the couch before digging into his dinner. After he finishes his bowl of chilli, he looks over and gives Greg Dixson a thumbs up as a sign of approval.*
Greg man, I swear to you, you should become a chef, you are a food god.
Well I admit I can brew up some mighty fine chilli, but a chef? Get out of town.
I'm telling you man, nobody can make me stomache happier than your food on a rainy day.
Speaking of which, i'm sorry about that, we were supposed to go out and whip you into prime fighting condition today and never got the chance to.
It's okay Greg, because the chance i'm going to be getting is at Aggravated Assault, my second World Title win could possibly be not too far away.
And even if god forbid this title shot doesn't work out for you, the sun is still shining brightly on your career and that window of opportunity is going to be wide open for a long, long time.
*Dusty absorbs Greg's words and then looks out through his closed window once again at the rain falling viciously, no longer a light sprinkle, but a full blown shower of water.*
You think so Greg?
I know so man, you're Dusty Freakin Jay.
There are some pretty big odds in that title match, i'm going against not only the champion of the company, but a man and his fiance, all this after wrestling for my Television Title earlier in the evening, it's going to be brutal, what if i'm so worn out that the sun goes down? My sunshiny career, my night, my moment, becomes nothing more than a dark rain cloud falling from the sky? The window of opporunity having the be slammed shut or else my entire existance is drowned out in the flood?
Dusty, that's crazy talk and you know it, stop being so damned down on yourself all the time, do we need to get you some anti depressants or something? Maybe some Prozac?
Very funny Gregory, very funny.
I'm not joking with you man, I think you might have some kind of self esteem issue.
Really? No play?
Not at all.
Well whether I have some sort of problem or I don't, we can't focus on that right now, it's all about my chance to take home the richest prize in the game, that ICWA World Title. Do you have those scouting reports handy? It is what I pay you for.
I thought you paid me because of my immense good lucks? I'm heartbroken. Seriously though, the scouting reports are on the table in the office, check them out whenever, I went balls out on this report, i've got everything you need to know about each one of your opponents for Aggravated Assault. Weaknesses that they don't even know they have, I know.
Good deal man, I know I can always count on you.
What are best friends for man?
*Dusty slaps a high five with Greg and then speeds up the stairs to his office so he can check out the scouting reports that Greg had compiled. He looks at the four stacks of reports and decides to check out the champion of the world, Austin Briggs, first.*
BRIGGS, AUSTIN - ICWA WORLD CHAMPION
*Dusty examines Briggs' report and then puts it at the bottom of the pile, next looking at the report on Reginald L. Johnson.*
JOHNSON, REGINALD L.
*Dusty sifts that to the bottom of the pile and comes across Greg's analysis of Raine Dawson.*
DAWSON, RAINE
*Finally, Dusty gets to his opponent for the World Television Title, Violent Bryan.*
VIOLENT BRYAN
*When Dusty completes his reading of the scouting reports, the inner turmoil ceases, and he is back to feeling cool, confident, and ready to go when the time comes. He gets up from his desk and walks out of the room then yells down the stairs to Greg to turn on the tv, the World Baseball Classic is on.*
TWO
*The next day Dusty and Greg are playing a game of cards. Dusty is winning, as usual. Greg may be able to cook, but he is hardly a card shark by any stretch of the imagination, he though rummy was a new type of alcoholic beverage. The topics they chat about go from fine women to the NBA to the World Baseball Classic, but eventually it gets back to the upcoming matches at Aggravated Assault.*
So what do you think of Austin Briggs? He's quite a character huh?
He's got a bigger ego than Shawn Hunt and Nemesis combined.
Wow! Now that is saying something.
It's a little odd how he is totally and utterly disconcerned with the other people in this match, so sure of himself, it's more than self confidence, it's just pure arrogance. He has the title, that's true, and he won it all by himself and he should be respected for being the ICWA Champion, however, he didn't beat me. I was scheduled for that gauntlet, and then somebody canceled the flight. It wasn't me, it wasn't you, and it wasn't President Kraven, what better suspect that the guy who ended up winning it and then talks about me as if i'm some extra they bring in to lose on Saturday mornings? He seems so sure that i'm nothing, it might just be an act to throw us off course. Someone had to do it, he would be prime suspect number one in my book.
You might have a point, the man who wanted to be champion so bad he would stoop to anything, and then play it off as if you weren't going to stand a chance, and still don't stand a chance anyway.
Yeah, one of these days we are going to find out who the hell canceled those tickets.
What do you think your odds against Reginald L. Johnson and Raine Dawson are? It's no secret that they'll be working together until they have to wrestle one another one on one.
Well that's the trick isn't it? To make sure they never get the chance to be the last two. Who am I to want to see two people who are madly in love wrestling against one another, with a potential for bloodshed? That's no way for a relationship to go, which is why i'm going to last until the end.
Very funny Dusty.
In all seriousness, yeah it's going to be tough, and even though I don't like Austin Briggs, I think it would be mutually beneficial if we work together against those two to preserve ourselves, make sure the final three in it aren't a couple and then someone who's going to get double teamed to hell. I doubt Briggs has enough common sense running through him to realize that though, only time will tell.
Reginald L. Johnson is a big big guy, he's huge. The biggest person in the match, he has a size, weight, and stregth advantage over each and every one of us, which should automatically make him the odds on favorite. I know guys like him, i've grown up in the hip hop culture, guys like him can fight. All you have to do is take one look at the man and it's enough to make your bladder go off without any second thought. Think of him like a huge mountain, and I have two choices. Scale the huge mountain in hopes of conquering it and risking possible death in the process...or put a bunch of dynamite at the base of the mountain in hopes of making it explode...and risking death in the process. Either way, there's a chance i'm going to get a good black eye or two dealing with that behemoth.
Raine Dawson is an interesting character. She's something straight out of a paperback novel, and that's not trying to be offensive, it's just, her words send this weird tingling feeling down your spine and make your hairs stand on end and you don't know why. She's a very compelling individual and she can wrestle with the best men or women on the planet, it's obvious why she's in this match, she's a measuring stick as far as i'm concerned, for men, for women, for anyone who aspires to be in the business. Nothing but respect.
But dude....I can't overlook the Television Title match against Violent Bryan, it is going to be a monumental encounter of two former EFW Superstars going at it for the prize of being the champion of all of television. I can't speak for Bryan, but I know I love television more than just about anyone, which is why I love that belt, the benefits include the free digital cable! I'm not taking Violent Bryan lightly, and I think you know me well enough to know that I wouldn't ever take an opponent of his calibur lightly. I'll be ready for Violent Bryan at the pay-per-view.
So what do you have Dusty?
Straight.
A pair of threes....BAH! I hate card games.
THREE
*Greg is now setting up his camera equipment for the vignettes and video promos Dusty has to do to hype up his matches at Aggravated Assault. Once Greg gives the "Ok" signal with his hand, Dusty begins.*
You know i've wanted to be a champion since I was a little kid watching wrestling on Saturday mornings, and when I got to DHW to begin my career, I straightened up my bad attitude and became just that, a champion both in and out of the ring, my journey has now brought me here to ICWA, where I once again hope to become a champion...a double champion. You see this Television Title here is an honor, a huge honor, but to be World Champion is different, not only recognized as a champion when it comes to my Television Title, but to become a champion of the company, of the entire world of professional wrestling, that's special.
Will I have adversaries? Of course, or else Aggravated Assault wouldn't be worth watching. I have Violent Bryan, who I know from far back but have never had the pleasure of competing against, he wants my Television Title, and I want to keep it, he respects me and I respect him, and it's going to be a great matchup of two key guys going at it for the prize.
Raine Dawson wants to know what I have done to deserve a title shot, that's understandable, what i've done is become World Television Champion, what i've done is show Matt Kraven first hand that I can carry the load and be World Champion, he saw it in EFW when he wrestled there. I've done all I can, and it partly makes up for the plane incident when I missed my opportunity at the Gauntlet.
Reginald L. Johnson, you know what it takes to win, and you think you can beat me, and that's the mark of any confident wrestler, i'm glad you are so confident in your own ability to defeat any major superstar any given night, but rest assured, don't focus squarely on your girlfriend or on the defending champion, I think I might be getting overlooked.
Austin Briggs, the champion of the world, ICWA's self proclaimed God. You have got a lot of nerve talking like you do. Anyone can defeat any superstar on any given night, keep your eyes and ears open and your skills in tact for the entire duration, don't kill yourself mentally or make a high risk mistake, which is what you're on track to doing just judging by the way you present yourself. As far as i'm concerned, you are not a real champion.
It seems between the three of you that i've gotten some sort of reputation as a guy that sits back and waits for things to happen. That isn't the case, I just pick my spots, I know when to talk and when to shut up, I was raised in a shallow Hollywood world and I always had a sense of when people said too much, it's always stayed with me. I'm not quieter than a church mouse as Raine Dawson thinks, I can actually get pretty loud, I just let me ring work do the talking, and my titles chat it up. The silence of mine is now broken, and i've said what needed to be said, so i'll see the four of you at Aggravated Assault, when I take all the gold home to the city of angels.
*And all it will take is a count of*
ONE TWO THREE
Austin Briggs is the reigning and defending World Champion, he uses the Dragon Clutch and Justifiable Assault as his primary finishing manuevers. Extremely cocky and arrogant, maybe a little overly arrogant, the way to beat him is to make the match go long so he frustrates himself, and leads to his own demise.
Reginald Johnson is 6'5" and 275 pounds of pure muscle and brute force. He likes to pound his opponents into begging for mercy before finishing them off with The Dead End and Breakdown. Engaged to Raine Dawson. The way to beat him is to take his legs out from underneath him, he's got nearly 6 inches on you, you're faster, use it to your advantage.
Raine Dawson is a fierce competitor, no matter what the gender. She is a good all around in ring worker who has no foreseeable weakness when it comes to wrestling ability. However, she is giving up a lot of weight to everyone in the match, and if would be exceedingly difficult to perform her Sweet Dreams finisher on you. Use your might, your weight, and don't lose your wits, and you can beat her.
Not much I need to tell you about Violent Bryan, Dusty. You know him from EFW and have seen what he can do, you've never wrestled before, so make sure to look out for Violent Drop and Nightmare Drop, two of the most lethal moves in wrestling today. You match up well, if you need to, use your championship advantage if it's going too long, the World Title is the bigger prize, as much as you love your Television Title.
