Misconception Sometimes you have to force yourself to go through with things. Afraid and nervous, but you know it has to be done. You're afraid to leave what you've always known. You're even more afraid to face something new. Not knowing what lies ahead is what scares you the most. No one is there to tell you how things are to be done. No one is there to tell you everything will be okay. You're alone for the first time. You start to cry as you realize it was a lie when they said they would always be there for you. You knew when they said it that it was a lie, but you chose to believe it because you needed something to hold onto. While you were holding on, they let go. You pray God will give you the strength to take the first step. But what's the first step? No one's there to show you what it is anymore. Panicking, you cry harder as you realize you're lost. Turning circles looking for a way out, you stumble and fall. While curled into a ball in a corner, someone touches you. Tears streaming down your face, you look up. Smiling, He reaches his hand out to take yours. You nervously, but willingly take His hand. Not saying a word, He helps you up and welcomes you with open arms. You smile as you rush towards Him, holding on with everything you have. That moment He lets you know everything is going to fine. You look at Him as He looks at you, and you believe Him. Hands together, He walks with you showing you the way to go. Your second step. "But what about the first step," you ask? The first step was to realize you needed Him. Maybe forcing yourself isn't the way to go. Realizing you need Him is the way.
