Treading
Life seems to drain from our very existence
When the whole time we spend it slowly dying
How do you survive? How can you feel alive?
I'm waiting for things to be better
They say things will get better
But in the meantime I am living in a world
Where things aren't getting better
Who am I becoming? What am I becoming?
What else can I do when I feel this hopeless?
I can pray, for the thousandth time today
I'm waiting for things to be better
They say things will get better
But in the meantime I am living in a world
Where things aren't getting better
Waiting for the signal to come that it's all over
You tell me that it's all fate and that it's all too late
I guess some things just never change
I'm waiting for things to be better
They say things will get better
But in the meantime I am living in a world
Where things aren't getting better
I will put my trust in those that hope for me
How can I believe them, when I don't even see them
I guess I'll just tread water and see
I'm waiting for things to be better
They say things will get better
But in the meantime I am living in a world
Where things aren't getting better
