The Life We Are Currently Living It begins at conception, deep down inside As we debate is it a choice, or is it alive? Doctors know, when life begins But the pressure to say no, covers what could have been Are we truly lucky, if we get out alive? With mothers who drop us in dumpsters, and then let us die As strangers torture and fathers molest Surely abortion would have been best We are being watched, photographed and scanned If this is acceptable, then we are imminently damned The courts have no problem with possession, are people justified? To portray the most heinous of acts upon us? Children hide We are in our teens, lost and unloved Selling our souls, for an array of sex and drugs As hopelessness consumes us, like a giant black tide Either the gangs will suck us in, or we'll attempt suicide We are shooting our classmates, and it is quite fun Those who suffered at their hands, now laugh as they run There is no hope for us, we have no remorse or dread As we kill all that we can, then put a gun to our head Young adults stay lost till around mid-life Playing with aids, or flaunting gay-pride Some sell their souls, for the next big promotion While breaking their families as they go through the motions Divorce and drunk-drivers tear families apart Backed by lawyers who go for the heart "I just stopped loving her, can't you understand? Her hair smelled so nice, it's not like it was planned" Adult bookstores are the norm, found on every street But this is ok, we're not feeling the heat "It's only innocent fun" all the participants taunt "It's a free country, I'll indulge if I want" Now we're old, senile and sick I'm afraid of hurting, so let me go quick I'm tired and useless, and am being artificially sustained So go pull the plug, and see what you've gained Don't be surprised at the wrath of God Seeing as we've taken our sins, and signed them as laws That doesn't affect me, I'm not part of that throng" But deep down inside, you know you are wrong Dustin Germain
