Beautiful End

They were Christ's beloved Twelve
Sent out to preach to the world
Knowing that no matter what happens
They would live and die for Him

James son of Zebedees was beheaded in Rome, 
Thomas was martyred with a spear in India, 
Bartholomew was skinned alive then crucified, and then beheaded in Armenia
Philip was scourged, then crucified at Heliopolis, Phrygia 

Simon-Peter was crucified upside down in Rome
Matthias was stoned and beheaded in Ethiopia, 
Judas was crucified in Edessa,. 
Mathew was martyred with a spear in Nabadah

Simon was crucified in Britain, 
James was stoned by the Jews; then had his head smashed in with a club 
Andrew was crucified in Patras, Greece 
John the beloved disciple died of natural causes

They never gave up their faith in Christ 
They never for a minute thought their deaths would be in vain
It wasn't a pointless sacrifice, it wasn't suicidal destruction 
But rather a Beautiful End
