Cold Fire

I like standing outside
In the middle of winter
Cold and wind biting my flesh
Stabbing like a thousand knives
Millions of pins and needles
Then like burning flames
For even the cold turns to fire
After a while
I love this burning feeling
Making my souls smile
With it's intense warmth
The inner pain slowly heals
Under this hideous shell
There is a great spirit
That has been to hell
And wants to break free
With arms wide open
Exposing willingly the skin
All the flesh that was marked
Opening up the shredded heart
The blackened organ that was loveless
Recieving all the white numbness
Falling flakes from heaven
Touching each tender scar
Each one healed brings more desire
The blood dripping from my cheeks
Like scarlet tears on a blanket of white
Cold mixing with fire
