What I Learned From Assignment #4

What I learned from assignment four was that chat rooms can be very rude and that people don't follow the same social norms in them that they do in other places.  I learned a lot about the basic functions of chat rooms that I didn't know before since I am not a frequent visitor of chat rooms.  I learned that it can be confusing what is going on because some chat rooms flash too much information about who is leaving and who is going.  Another thing I learned was that people aren't always going to make sense to you because they have a completely different background and belief system.  I guess I already knew this but the vulgarity that was displayed in a public chat room on msn just astounded me  and brought this to the fore front.
