Math 331

This picture is my wife and I at my best friends wedding last summer.
I haven't taken any Math classes at CSUCI until this semester. I am currently enrolled in three Math classes, they are Scientific Computing (Numerical Analysis), Logic, and this one, A History of Mathematics. I am a Computer Science Major and this is my last semester before I graduate. My Math background is from a long time ago as I took Calc I in high school and Calc II the second semester of college Spring 2001. I took intro to linear algebra/ differential equations at SBCC and then took Linear Algebra at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I also took an Algorithms class at Cal Poly that transfers to CSUCI as a Math class. I am taking Math 331 as one of my three upper division writing electives. I plan on going into the Computer Science Masters program here and getting my M.S. So this will require quite a few more math classes. I plan to one day get my Phd since I really enjoy learning especially about my field. If you count Algorithms as Math and I do then I would have to say that it is my favorite subject, there is something about hard work and elaborate problem solving that I find very appealing. I expect to get a better understanding of mathematical history out of this class. I like to see why decisions were made and what were the reasons for those decisions and math is no different. It provides an interesting perspective on things to know who created what, where, when and why. My favorite number is 20 it stems from my basketball number in high school and has followed me around ever since.
