“The Wild Tornado”

(based on a true story)

On a beautiful day, in the neighborhood, me, my mom, my uncle, my grandma, my sister, and my brother all went to K-mart in a big purple van. To get to this place from my town, you have to go over a bridge, then just keep going straight heading east until you get to a stoplight. Then you turn right into the shopping center. Well, we went and bought some stuff at K-mart. Then, on the way back, it was getting really dark for 6:00PM. We were going across the bridge and looked right toward the sky and it was really dark and it was turning green. My mom was freaking out. I didn't know why. She never told me. When we got home, we turned on the weather channel because it was dark and windy because it looks like a really bad thunderstorm. Then on the weather channel, the screen turned red and started beeping. It said that the area I lived in was in a Tornado Watch. Then like in fifteen minutes, it turned into a Tornado Warning. We all went in the basement and took a scanner and it wasn't really saying anything. We were all getting scared because it was really windy and it was like raining and hailing at the same time. Then in like 30 minutes to 45 minutes, we all went back upstairs. It said on tv that their was a tornado but it just didn't touchdown. We were lucky that day. If it did touchdown, our house wouldn't be there.
