“The Placement”
Chris picks up the phone and asks who's there. “It's your old friend Bob.” the voice answered back. “Yes. I have your cdroms that you asked for. Remember, you wanted me to burn Playstation games onto CDRW discs. I'm totally finished.” Chris walks over to Bob's house and gives him the cdroms and gets fifty bucks from Chris. Chris leaves his house and goes home. Later that night he goes out in his car to the local gas station. When he is filling up his tank, he sees his friend Bob running around yelling. After he pumps up his car with gas, he goes and talks to Bob.
“Hey hows it going?” Chris told Bob. Bob just replied with a couple sentences. “Not much. How about you. I'm just going to have some fun around here. Do you wanna help. It's gonna be fun?” Chris joins Bob's little party.
Chris tells Bob to go in his car. As Bob opens up Chris's car door, a old guy walks up to them. I thought we were in trouble, but just forgot to get my change. As I got my change, we went to a costume store. We got there at 9:45PM. After they picked up two gorilla suits, they put them on and went in their car. They were going to goto the township of Sheshquin, but something happened in the meantime.
As Chris stopped at the stop sign, a police car had driven his car behind him with their lights on. He pulled to the side and the cops did too. The cops got out of the car and went to Chris's front window. He told Chris and Bob that they were arrested and took them away in the police car. When they got to the police station, they asked Chris all sorts of questions. They did the same to Bob. They both stayed overnight in the station.
In the morning they both left with probation for three months following a court review. They left, returned the gorilla suits and went back home.
The day before the court review was, Chris went to Bob's house and talked about the court review. They both knew that they were going to go somewhere. They didn't know where though.
At eight o'clock in the morning. Bob and Chris went to the Lackawanna County Courthouse. The review didn't start until nine-thirty. So they waited outside for forty-five minutes. Their probation officer talked to them for awhile and then went into the court office.
They talked about everything they did and the charges. They sentenced Chris and Bob to a placement for nine to twelve months. Their both going to different placements.
They were sent away in two different cars.
...
Chris ended up in Westfield, PA. The placement was called Concern or CTUB. He noticed it was really big, He went in with his P.O. and talked to the manager of the placement. They assigned him a room and they gave him a lot of work to do.
The next day he went to school. All it was, was a big room and one teacher. There were five classes all forty-five minutes long. Their were English, math, Social Studies, Science, and Study Hall. After that its like two through two-fifteen. You can just do whatever until three o'clock.
There was a lot of kids here. All different ages. I got out in the group the fourth day I got their. I didn't hear from Bob until two months after I came to CTUB.
It was a letter telling me what had happened to him and where he was. He was happy to get away from all the negativity and have a little more freedom. I wrote back to him three days after I got Bob's letter. I got Bob's letter.
We do a lot of fun stuff around here. There is a pool table, everybody uses it, a ping-pong table, and a lot of rooms. The kitchen is even in another building. This place is like a mansion. Everybody's room has a bathroom in it. It's awesome. I get help and treatment here also. People talk to you about what you did in your past that was negative and wrong to do. I also have goals that I work on each month. This month the goals are:
(1-get used to the program
2-get to know all staff and clients
3-help out at least one client each day
4-talk to staff about one negative thing you did in your past each day and an essay on it
5-follow rules and expectations)
Basically there are usually five goals each month. Some stay the same and some change.
Seven Months Later:
Chris was on third level and had thirty-one letters from Bob and he spent out approximately twenty letters to him. Chris was about to leave the place he is at. there is supposed to be a meeting in two weeks thats gonna tell you when he leaves or not.
The morning of the meeting, Chris got all scared. He was supposed to goto the meeting and answer questions.
“Chris! Could you come in here please?” A counselor told him. Chris walked into the meeting room and saw everyone.
“Chris. Why are you here.” Another counselor asked him right when he sat down. “I'm here for a lot of reasons. Underage driving and driving without a person who has a license, driving with a costume on, driving after curfew, lying to the police officers, and not paying speeding tickets.”
Nice job Chris. You have done well here. You have taken responsibility very well and reading to go home. You have a court review tomorrow. So get your things packed.
The next day Chris goes to the courtroom and the judge says for him to go home with 2 months probation and sixty hours of community service. He never did anything bad again.
The End
