Appearance: Nealie is a tall girl, with curly long dark red hair, lithe trim but muscular body. She presents a sultry presents that has most males taking another look.
Personality: She's vivacious and flirtatious to everyone. She loves her job and takes it very seriously. In fact her job is the only thing she does take seriously. One thing everyone will find out is that she is a stickler for the rules of Starfleet. She lives and breaths them, but she's willing to be flexible in a jam or if the other party has founded facts to present to her to change her mind.
Strengths & Weaknesses: Her main strength is her training with Lt. Commander Uhura. Nealie learned everything she knows about communications from her. Neal can build a Comms board from the ground up and speaks every known Federation language as well as Klingon, Romulan, Vulcan, and a few others that Starfleet has come in contact with.
Her Weakness is her flirting. It tends to get her into trouble with the wrong people. Seeing as she will flirt with anyone male, some mates and wives have had complaints about her. And she's caused a few bar fights as well. She is trying harder to reign in this aspect of her personality but it's been hard going.
Ambitions: McGauran's main ambition is to follow in Uhura's footsteps. Her admiration for the Lt. Commander is very high and she would do anything to please the lady.
Her main goal is to learn as many languages as she can and create the ultimate translation device.
Hobbies & Interests: Like her mentor, Nealie sings beautifully and she dances too. She plays a Celtic lute that has been passed down through the generations of her family.

History:
Born 2253 to the McGauran Clan in the Highlands of north Scotland, Nealie was the only child of Kurgan and Cera McGauran. They doted on her and gave her everything they had. She in return gave them everything she had and more. The clan loved her was happy to see her grow into a fine young but every headstrong and flirtatious woman. The only bane she had was her flirting nature. It got her into a lot of trouble that she never meant to start.
At the age of 18 Nealie entered the Starfleet Academy to follow in her hero's footsteps. It helped a lot that her hero was teaching the communications course at the time, Lt. Commander Uhura. Neal learned everything the woman had to teach and then some.
Graduating in the top 10 of her class, Nealie went on to two ships as a Comms officer. Then she got the honor of being the Chief Comms Officer of the USS Beowulf. She can't wait to start.
